Howth Harbor 251

For those of you who know me well, you know I have a very unique photography style. I can't be certain, but I am quite sure that no other artist is using my concept of creating art. The truth is, it all came to me during one of my Quantum Jumps and today I want to show you my latest masterpiece. It's currently hanging over my mantle piece and I am pleased to say that when friends and family come over for a visit they can't keep their eyes off of it!

I just couldn't wait to share it with all of you.

Before I show it to you, however, I have a story you need to hear.

It was 1988 and I was in Ireland. I saw this old trawling vessel docked at Howth Harbor, a quaint fishing village on the outskirts of Dublin. The bow of the boat was crowded with fishermen, each with a pint of Guinness in hand. I pulled out my camera and took about a hundred photos of it. Once I returned home, I developed all the images put them together in a collage for a special showing at the International Photography Hall of Fame. After the showing I brought it home and put it in my garage where it laid forgotten for nearly 20 years.

Well... a few weeks ago I found it and got an amazing idea.

Here is what the piece looked like when I found it:

I brought the piece into my studio and started painting on the old photographs. I painted a new sky and ocean then contrasted it with the weathered brown boards of the dock I remember so well. I touched up the boat and painted in new ropes. Before I knew it, I had a brand new piece of art right in front of me!

Here it is:

I call it Howth Harbor. I hope you enjoy it.

Please let me know what you think!

Sincerely,

Burt
