Combating the Genius Dip — The Solution Is In The Pipeline! 87

If you have been following me through The Genius Dip report and the compilation report of positive solutions from parents in Combating The Genius Dip, then this video is for you.

You see, based on my research and all the comments and feedback I’ve received, I came up with one conclusion. The KEY to reaching anyone’s full potential is INSPIRATION and CREATIVITY.

Edison, one of the greatest geniuses of our time once said

“Ideas come from space. This may seem impossible and hard to believe but it’s true. Ideas come from out of space.”

What did Edison mean?

I believe he meant that within us all, is the ability to tap into universal consciousness to stimulate new ideas. Ideas for books, for new inventions, for solving problems. And inspiration for works of art, for projects to benefit the world.

Kids have this natural talent. Adults lose it. Hence the Genius Dip.

In this video I’m simply going to put myself on a hot seat and show you how stimulating creativity worked for me. So just go ahead and check it out.

And one more thing — I want to let you know that I’ve been working on something to help your kids to unleash their full potential, I’m about to reveal it soon, but first I need your feedback.

If I could share with you some of my secrets of unleashing creative potential for your kids, how would you like to receive it? Would you prefer it through a video DVD, audio, or a book?

I would love to hear your thoughts, so just go ahead, watch the video and send me your thoughts on my personal email: burtgoldman@gmail.com or just leave a comment below the video.

I would love to hear from you because I want to make sure I reach out to children through the best channels. I simply can’t wait to finish up what I have, so please write back to me with your suggestions soonest!

Thanks a million.

Burt

Gayle DeGraff, who above says she helps troubled teens, ran a boot camp that was responsible for the death of Michelle Sutton. Researching this, I found that Ms. DeGraff tried to perpetuate a lie that Michelle had taken cocaine which caused her death. The death was caused by dehydration in a forced march up a mountain. Counselors ignored the girl’s agony as she was dying, and accused her of faking it.

Everyone should be aware that there are wolves in the midst of those who would take charge of your kids and have complete and total power over them for the duration of their stay in a camp. Please thoroughly research those to whom you grant this authority so that this kind of tragedy does not happen to your child.

Hello Burt:
I would prefer your teachings for the children in video and books, if you can do something as VIDEOGAMES to teach the kids would be fabulous. That is the actual world of this new generation, and I thing a great way to touch their interest.
(I think for parents teaching is better audio to listening in the car while driving to work)

Thanks Burt for being part our life, and thanks for sharing with us and the world your inspiration, your creativity, your dreams about changing the social conscious. I eared time ago a person telling if you transform the conscious of 2 generations, you change the world.

That is way I would love to work in such transformation starting in my home with my kids, giving them a legacy of prosperity and love for the humanity and life.

Best regards
Elena

I have 3 children — 12, 9 & 7. The two oldest are boys. The competition between them was big, and with the help of your CD’s, about self competition, they are now getting along better. With a busy life, it is difficult to get everyone together to listen to the CD’s. We take about 30 min. a day to listen and learn a new technique. DVD’s may be more attractive to children and make it easier to get parents to get their children to listen and learn. However, it is also easier to have CD’s available so you can turn them on in the car — the kids have to sit still and listen — there is no other choice. And when school starts up again, listening in the car might be our only chance. Furthermore, I play the Daisy Pond at night when my children go to bed. I would recommend having both DVD’s and CD’s. Thank you for your inspiration and intelligence to increase the beauty of life.
P.S. Beautiful scenic videos with brilliant colors would be a nice compliment to some of the meditations. However, we want the children to come up with their own visualization, so it’s a hard decision.

Ines says

i’am glad to see that some one in the word care so much for all the children, and some so smart to know how to get the message to them, in a form that they will listen.

Hi Burt,
I am a Kiwi from New Zealand and have 5 children and 15 Grandchildren and one due in June, 2008. Now that my children have children of their own they prefer to work with the system the Government has provided for them and some of these provisions are quite good, especially in the Play Centres and Kindergartens. I have been meditating, visulizing and reading a lot of spiritual books and found that what you have to say about the Genius Dip blew me away as it is true that our children need to be creative and be allowed to use their imagination freely. As an adult I found it very hard to put this into play in my life, right now, but I am finding myself and what I really want in life which I have never been able to before. I would love to have your teachings so that I am able to download them from your site perhaps e-book, dvd or video. I would really love to give them to my children as a gift. I am sure that it would change their thinking. I really enjoy your website and your free lessons.
I send Divine-Love and Light from my heart.
Thankyou.

Hi Burt,

I really enjoy everything you do. Thanks for taking the time to reach out to others with what you have learned. My little son loves books, so I’d be very interested in a kids book or workbook that he can use (preferably with lots of animals and trucks:)! ). As far as for us adults, I always like downloads.

Thanks!

Burt,
The Genius Dip series was very inspiring and resonated with what we believe and teach our daughter. This is something i would like to have been aware of many years ago with my older children as i am sure it would have made a huge difference in our family life and in their growing up.
Thank you presenting this information as it is never too late.

For the past 28 years of my life, I have been employed with the Head Start Project, first in Dane County, WI, now in Oklahoman and Canadian Counties, OK.
The program serves low-inocome children and their families and started in the sixties after President Johnson’s “War on Povery Act” (http://www.rfkineky.org/
project/poverty-war.htm).
One of the greatest features of this program, new for the those days, was its unique approach to education. First of all, the child was conceived as a part of her family, ethnic group, and social environment. All of her needs were considered equally important as determinants of her inellectual characteristics and academic achievements.
Therefore, a typical Head Start classroom provided (and still does) nutrition services, health screenings, mental health observations, social services, education screenings with follow-up individualized lesson plans, and parent involvement in all areas of the program.
The child is viewed as a unique individual with a particular set of abilities and needs, a learning style addressed on daily basis in the careful setting of an environment (both physical, emotional and intellectual) conducive to the development of self-confidence and worth, and self-initiated exploration.
She learns by making choices and mistakes, facilitated by the guidance of motivated, educated/trained, and loving individuals. A quality control system is implemented on ongoing basis to assure that each individual is provided with the opportunities to develop her inner abilities and progress into a self-motivated, lifelong learner, and active member of the society she is part of.
For these reasons, amomg others, I am still working and advocating for the Head Start Project, to assure that the value of its social function retain public recognition and support.
If this approach were maintaned beyond the preschool level, we would not be speaking of the Genius Dip, would we?

Sincerely,
Saleema Ra

Hello Burt Goldman,

It’s nice to hear that you work so enthusiastically for children. I just hope this is to empower children in their visualization skills thru computers and internet instead harnessing their power for your use, but I guess that’s what we do. The children are eager to help since they see older people fighting their own demons which they so clearly know from their dreams. Hopefully the result of all this is to make the earth a better place for all concerned.

Needless to say we are homeschooling now. I am very interested in any tools you can help my beautiful, talented, intensely curious, imaginative (one of his heroes is Mr. George Lucas…) son to FLY. We are on our own here — no help financially in Australia for visual/spatial dyslexic high IQ kids. Keep it coming Burt. By the way DVD with an audio option for exercises eg. meditation would be great. Dear Burt,

Thank you for becomming so enthousiastic. It’s good to feel you are fine and how creative you invite all of us to respond.
To respond meaning what? To respond is to make a connection is it not.

To connect with what?
Well with what you represent: an inspiriing creativity. Where does that connection take place?
In what place is it?
And is it possible for me and you to connect there?

It is in no place, isn“t it?
Is it right here and now?
moving without moving
living without taking form
sound without words
Fascinating.…..

So can that inspiring creativity have “a place” where it can be
Is it in the meeting itself?
Is it in that very moment of where contact takes place
where myself and all the importancies we hold on to falls to the background and the meeting itself with the child or adult becomes more important.
Thats where relationship starts and an unbound, free learning, inspiring and creating can take place

Enough,

We hardly read anymore.
We want everything quickly,
Here and now

And being able to repeat
As also I have been trained to through tv, media, school etc

So I suggest a dvd or pdf file

Mojca says

Dear Burt,

First I would like to thank you for all your good words I heard or read, and that others did.
Not enough people these days are speaking laud. But I guess there is not enough awaken creativity in general. The sistem of this world says FAST, and it says MONEY. On to hold that one, we somewhere forget to hold ourselfs. Less we do is look what we realy have in ourself. What we have, could reveal everything and it would solve many problems, as we call “that”.…unpleasant things we usually create by ourselfs to ourself or to others. Clear mind is no problem, clear mind is all ways and freedom. In inspiration, looking to bright future, everything you wish you will have.

I support your idea about the genious Dip. Last day I was in the store, some child ask his mother something really smart, she didn’t know how to answer, it was sad. Then she told him to be quied, so she can shopp,…that was more sad.

P.s
If you do the video, and audio, as well in book, it wouldn’t be so bad.…

I believe one reason that children are lessened in genius is that most references to children is to use the word, ‘kid’. Drives me nuts! Kids are baby goats. Children are gifts of the Great Spirit, whom we call God.
I reared 6 children who are well adults. I love all children. Wish everyone loves them also and cherishes them as well. I never got in such a rut that I could not change direction in a heartbeat, if anyone needed attention elsewhere.

I am not yet confident enough to teach my child and I know that my personal example is the best teacher and that motivates me to go on. My husband however, is quite conservative. Thank you beloved Genius soul for being an inspiration to many people. What a wonderful difference you are making to humanity…. Humanity needs more people like you. You appear to be living by setting example to yourself and others including adults and children.

Awakening the dormant “genius within” is a real challenge to most people including myself. In this new age, we do have that chance with appropriate inspiration and imagination by combining adults with children in community schools, so that both learn from each other with appropriate curriculum using printed and electronic media.

Hi Burt,

It would be great to have this on DVD so I can share with others.

I have a son who at 14 we discovered had a gift for playing classical pieces on piano. He is now 17 and still loves playing. He plays from the heart and memorizes all his pieces, mostly by Chopin and other great musicians.

He’s always been described as someone who learned differently. Unfortunately, in this society, he was also labeled as having “learning disability”.

With this gift in music, it really opened our minds about how children can flourish given the opportunity to spend time with their imagination.

At age 14, I would have thought that it would have been too late for him to start learning piano. He proved me wrong!!! He is now playing level 9 piano pieces and is loving his new found talent!!!

Thanks for sharing this with us. I certainly can learn more about our human mind.

Richard says

Great idea Burt,
My prefered format is either audio file of ebook format.

Lotus says

Yes, I certainly believe ideas comes from a higher intelligence and that all we need to do is to learn to be in that space and tap in. When we are at one with that space of the higher intelligence, everything is possible. If not now, it’s just a matter of time and focus.

I am sure there are lots of things we could do with our kids and also ways that we could “Be” which would affect our kids in preserving that genius mentality.

Right now, I don’t have any luck on your video above, it kept stalling.

As for preference for receiving teaching material, I still prefer the internet.

You are doing a tremendous work that will help humanity for years to come.
I know my daughter (8) will love to “meet” you on a DVD (or downloadable video) with all the stories, examples, and techniques. A work book (pdf) with illustrations, examples, and applications. And finally, CD or downloadable audio for the techniques with eyes closed.
And since you are way ahead of everybody else, please, please, take a look at the possibility of merging these techniques with the Montessori approach, and the use of hemisynch technologies for the conditioning exercises.

Dear Burt,

I need to take more time in my day to learn from you (and to complete my Silva lessons). Our adopted twins are still creative, but I want to help them maintain and increase that blessing as they traverse the public school system. I like the idea of a DVD, but German Moyano has a great point — a YouTube video would or a video on your website would be a wonderful gift to the world!

I (!) need your lessons even more than do my kids, but your parenting lessons will be appreciated!

Thanks for your work Burt.
I have loads of children, nephews and nieces I would love to see their talents unleashed. I have no doubt they are very intelligent, but unfortunately no one knows how to tap this potential. Can we really see their creative talents?
A DVD and ebook would be a good combination.

Darina says

Hi, Burt. Please consider the following:
Children are “killed” by being taught to be praised, compared, to be like the other people. Most of the people as of now, with the present system (political, educational and so on ) are intellectual, but not intelligent. So intelligent person is viewed as actually stupid. Intelligence is the opposite of memorizing — it is interpreting in a new way. Connecting two ideas, not logically connected, and putting them together.
If you are innovative, you are different, then you have hard time having friends, and you might choose to agree with the mass. (You realize you don’t want to be different at about 14)
The road of innovative and imaginative person is very hard. It is against establishment, it is about experimenting, and against just agreeing with what is.
I was in university and can tell you that I had hard time doing papers on something, when I had to read a lot of books and make a “thesis”, and that is how you get your degree, it is very far from having your own original piece of work.
Think about business, today everything is business, the more robotic people are, the more praises they receive.
Even art is a business — if you can get the money to advertise and pretend who you are, people who are businessmen (not artists), will buy your work precisely BECAUSE it is a good investment.
I think the main thing to teach children to keep their creativity is to allow them to make mistakes, and praise them for doing things not in the way they were told to do it by us. Otherwise they will be RECREATIONS of us. And the world will die. And, also, to somehow get to them the idea that they do not need to be liked for who they are.
Because they are perfect. Comparison and criticism is a no-no. Most of the time people are false because they have to be like this or like that. Imagine a man going on a business meeting dressed differently than with a suit (for a man)! Imagine you go for n interview showing creative thinking by having a crazy style!
It is a very challenging thing to do, very challenging. The whole system is based on people being thought to obey, and not to create. To be like somebody else’s idea, and not theirs. All the geniuses were ridiculed when they were young.
I hope that you let parents know that before they decide to keep their child a genius:)

Hi Burt,

Great videos and pdf description. Just a small suggestion, to adjust your perspective from viewing the goal as “prevention” to one of “maintenance” and continued “growth”.

Since, kids are already geniuses, they need only continue being geniuses. I’m 32 and remember deciding as a child that I didn’t want to be like the adults who closed off their minds to new ideas and became “set” in their ways.

I’ve caught myself several times in the last 10 years, getting into habitual thoughts and modes of being and having a really good laugh. I immediately encouraged myself to do things a little differently.

For example, in college I started writing the alphabet using my left (non-dominant) hand and occasionally brushing my teeth with my left hand. Intentionally taking different routes to and from work, even if they’re equidistant.

To sum up, my two cents… prevention through maintenance.

Dear Burt,
It is really nice to have such a nice friend as you are. I was just telling my mother I now have a good friend who is over eighty. Concerning my opinion on the question you have arisen, I think the best way to publish your work to the majoriry of people all around the world, is to mount it on a video in youtube.
Thank you for being an enlighten human being and for sharing most of the wisdom you have acquired through your life.
God bless you.

Hi Burt,

First of all, I want to thank you for the wonderful work you do. Your lessons changed my life and I am really thankful for that. May your teachings reach out to people all over the world and make our planet a better one to live on.

Furthermore, I am really concerned with the genius dip (I am a 17 year old student from germany). I totally agree with you to emphasise creativity in the childhood. To my mind, the most efficient way to reach a great amount of people and first and foremost youngsters as I am, is through the internet. Think of the huge quantity of people you reached and still reach with your homepage, or the 7 lessons you offer for free. I can’t imagine any other way to publish such important words as you have with such a great impact than on the internet.

Your videos like the one on top of this page really touch me and address both, the visual and the auditory sense and thus are perfectly suitable for everybody. In addition, it is a very personal way of learning and accordingly highly efficent.

This is why I prefer online lessons and would be really pleased to receive the solutions to The Genius Dip in the form of a movie.

Curious to hear from you,
Markus

Dear Monk. DVD and book. Do you know why? Abroad there are people who can read, write but feel difficults listenning English. Among my friends, graduated at University,(more or less one hundred people), only two of they can listening English. One is an Engeneer and another is a English teacher. Anyway a translation into Portuguese is the best way to reach Brazilians people. Most of books in Brazil are from American origin, translated into Portuguese.

My career is placing troubled teenagers into residential treatment programs. I talk to many stressed-out parents every day, and hear a plethora of different problems they’re experiencing. Frequently the issues are academic, and since I first came across your Genius Dip information, I have been referring frantic parents to your website. Very often what these parents have is a very intelligent child who is not being adequately challenged and I know that you have answers for all of us. These parents have been very grateful for the “solutions”, as am I. I’m expecting my 12th grandchild in November and I’m anxious for my children to learn these valuable concepts so that they can make these beautiful grandchildren into the best they can be, on all levels. I would like to see the concepts in a book so that I could refer back to the knowledge readily. Thanks for your invaluable resources!

Hi Burt. Really enjoyed your talk on creativity. My view is that wisdom for the ages should be in a form that could still be accessed easily even if technology goes, hence I would prefer to receive your work in a book. A supplemental DVD would also be fine to make the material more reinforced to the senses, while an audio format would additionally make it portable. I’m looking forward to it soon. More power to you and God bless

Thank you for your short clip on creativity. I enjoyed it and am always motivated after hearing you speak. I would suggest that you put the work out on all three mediums i.e. DVD, Audio and a book. I realise that that would be a lot of work for you but it would serve its purpose by reaching the multitude as they would be able to see, hear and read your work.

Hello Burt
As a parent i always tried to get our children to use there imaginations, for example i would often bring home carboard boxes for them to play with. These cardboard boxes became cars or houses or boats and they would play with them for hours and come back and play again several days later and the box would become somthing else. I found that by using simple objects like this for play it would be far more beneficial and fun than a shop bought toy that was only designed to be one thing.
I would also make up stories and adventures about my children based on dreams that we had for them, and they loved it when some of these dreams came true.
Our son has a very high I.Q. and runs his own construction business and our daughter is an Accountant and is living in Canada. I became a teacher.
Thanks again Burt, keep on opening boxes for us look in through your eyes.

Regards Mike

Dear burt,

Just saw your clip on the artwork you’ve done and the talk about kids. I loved it and I think a dvd with a workbook for children would be lovely. they can watch you each day and have an exercise to do as their homework. You are doing a great job and you are right, when kids are taught from a young impressionable age then they grow up to be wonderful grown ups.

thanks Burt for the wonderful job. Keep going!!!!!!!

Hi Burt,

Thank You for sharing your art work — it is wonderful to know you can do anything you want in life as long as you put your mind to it. It is just to find the process that works for you.….…. Your work is amazing. = )
The mediums that I like is both visual & auditory and I love to read. Are you going to make it for only parents or also children to view/read? My children loves to read, but they are very visual as well. Maybe a mix of things would be good. A DVD with a work book!? Look forward to see what you have in store.

Hi Burt: Thank you for your wonderful video clip on “Combating the Genius Dip — The Solution Is In The Pipeline!”. I am very interested in your idea of how we as parents can help our kids retain and even grow their creativity. I too believe that the formal school system is lacking in developing, in my opinion, this valuable method of achieving success in adulthood. I would prefer to have a workbook in order to help my 6 year old son Braydon in becoming all that he can be.

Sincerely,

Hi Burt,
You are I ray of hope in this business of educating children.I was a very busy mom of three children but I think that had some advantages: I had not had time to argue with them about things they should or should not have done. The little time I had I used to play with them and help them only if they asked me to.They are all grown ups now and happy people, but they have some heavy demands on their own children. The society seams to expect more of the new generation. So, my four grandchildren turn to me for support in venting their complaints. What should I do? Help, please, if you can .Thanks.

Hi Burt,

I find your presence very calming and reassuring. I think that children would love to see you on a video. It would be a great teaching tool for parents to watch with their children. I have a 6 1/2 year old daughter who is inherently creative. She has a gift for drawing beyond her years and really enjoys creating art. However, just recently she has discovered online children’s sites and is spending time playing on the computer. I wanted to experiment with this so I allowed her to freely play on the computer when she felt like it. She suddenly had no interest in drawing (she had spent hours every night in the past creating art) and she also seemed to get “bored” more often. I then told her that the computer was off limits and that she had to be creative and think of fun things to do. She immediately took out her water colors and began to paint. Then last night, she put on an impromptu puppet show for my husband and I. I’m not anti computer. However, I really think that children should be limited to the amount of time they spend on it. Again, everything in moderation.

Shalom,

Heidi

I used to sit down with the kids and read to them all the time they’d gladely turn off TV or what ever. Then I used to sit and talk to them and imagine things they were interested in and things they had no idea about. I’ve spent 20 years listening to boards of review for scouts. Sadly a lot of them couldn’t carry on a conversation. Trying to get them to say more then a word and explain something was impossible sometimes. Give them time to be themselves and give them time to just dream is exciting.

I might tell my Aunt about this so she can help unleash the genious in my little cousin! Ah, that would be so cute.

I would love to receive your new material in DVD and written, i.e Portable Document Format (.pdf). DVDs create the most immersive experience for me and if I wanted to show the material my grandchildren, that would be a natural medium for them to experience.

The machine readable Portable Document Format, when tied directly to each DVD lesson, makes it easy for me to locate a key concept quickly, when I want to go back and review specific material.

Thanks,

…I am eighteen. I guess that means I am kid (though I don’t like to be called one)… does that mean I can be a genious at drawing? Mom my says my drawing skills are decent.

Really good picture shots. So you didn’t pratise at all? Whoa.

…Your art used to be stick-figures and then you could draw a mountain screen? 0_0

I like that Mystic Light House because I like water. I am not a parent… but could this still help me unleash my genious? Um…

I think that DVDS are better than reading but… I guess if I have to I would listen to it. I am more of a visual learner though. I like media and dvds.
