How To Deal With Change: “Dear Burt” Volume 28 49

Hello Friends,

Here we are with “Dear Burt” number 28!

Let me tell you a little about the painting behind me. It is a forest scene and is kind of my representation of The Daisy Pond. Let me know what you think.

In this video, I will talk about the subject of dealing with change.

Before going any further, I would just share a couple quotes with you:

If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.”  - anonymous

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.” - Alan Cohen

If you want to deal effectively with change, you cannot fear it or let it frustrate you. You cannot attempt to minimize or avoid change. Instead, you have to learn how to deal with change, and use it to your advantage.

In life, we all have our own “security blanket” - something that’s comfortable for us. But, remember, without change, there is no growth and growth is the only evidence of life there is. ;-)

So, how can you accept change? Develop the habit of welcoming and working with change instead of resisting to it. Go to a meditative state and view the changes in your life as positive events. See yourself incredibly happy with these changes and trust me, you will get over your fear.

Now, here are the questions I will get to this week:

Dear Burt,

I always look forward to Friday! Your videos are very helpful and I am planning to purchase the Healing Triangle next month when I get paid. I have a question. We hear so much about hormones and additives in the food and there are people who have the destructive habit of drinking soda, if we take a minute to bless what we are eating and have the intention that it feed our body, can that prevent the harm that usually is associated with the chemicals we are ingesting?
- Jane

Dear Burt,

This blog is one of the high points of my week, just about every week! Today you addressed one of the questions I have, yet in my case there seems to be a different kind of twist on it–procrastination. Sometimes, I’ll be so excited about a project that for some reason, I think I need to put the brakes on it. Alas, it then stalls, and momentum is hard to re-establish. As a result, all too often I’m surrounded by too many unfinished projects. How would you deal with this kind of self-sabotage? It seems like a sort of procrastination, but also different.
- Jeanne

Dear Burt,

Thank you so much for your wonderful advice and awesome videos. I love the barn picture! Can you tell me how to get the courage (or how to change my thinking) to move from a safe and secure job that I have had for 20 years (as a teacher) to a better paying and more exciting job (as a school administrator). I am highly qualified for the job and I think I could help a lot more people as an administrator, however, I am afraid to change. I know I could do the job very well and everyone wants me to move up but I just don’t want to make a mistake and regret it later. I feel stuck. The problem is that I am scared to change and leave my comfort zone. Do you have any suggestions on how to get out of the comfort zone? Thanks so much and GOD bless you Burt!!
You are AWESOME!
- Misty

Dear Burt,

You mentioned unconditional love for children — what about conditions for adult relationships? For example I can “love” someone but not want to continue a relationship at the same depth unless they meet a few ‘reasonable’ conditions — such as; no drug use, monogamy, willingness and ability to pay their share of the bills, etc — is that out of line? This subject confuses me as much as forgiveness used to confuse me. What’s your view point?
Your biggest “fan”
- Marilyn

Dear Burt,

Thank you so much for all the wonderful information and techniques you share! I am always comforted and reassured of my wonderful life when I watch your videos and listen to your audios. My dog, the beautiful golden retriever Teddy, had several lumps in his skin which have been examined and removed, tests showed negative to cancer but might be kidney disease of some sort. My question is: What methods/techniques can I implement to Heal him and bring him to his most BEAUTIFUL AND HEALTHY SELF? What is needed of me and my family to ensure his magnificent health and well being? I would appreciate your advice so much! I am a reiki/yoga practitioner are there any tips where I could utilize these things for his optimal and perfect health?
Thank you Burt! I love you.
- Hannah

Dear Burt,
In your short session you talk about bad energy. Somehow I don't really beleive there is bad energy. My point of view is that energy is energy, like an electrical wire. It is nor good nor bad, just energy or electricty. My point of view is that if our thoughts are that coffee or cigarets are bad for us, it creates a judgment and that judgment creates a blockage inside of us and yes kino can change that blockage. There are other ways to do it also. In my perception calling an energy good or bad is like saying the wind is good or bad, because it blows hard, or soft. The wind is the wind and energy is energy. Our judgments creates the molecules in our body to slow down to a point of locking the energy inside of us and not allowing us to move forward, move with ease and be in that energy. It stops us from being the energy that we are, which generate a flow of ease in our lifes. This is only my point of view, which I chose to share.

Really enjoy the mindbox and quantum jumping programmes here in the U.K. The idea of owning a print version of a painting you might do of the daisy pond is attractive. Please consider doing this and making it available!

Thanks
John Healey.

Dear Burt, I met you in the early 90's when I purhased your book Silva MInd Control of Mental Dynamics. So much of what you are doing is in that book. You painted the Daisy Pond back then maybe you just haven't gotten around to putting it on canvas. I took my first Silva training in 1981, like yoiu I have had a lot of birthdays. about the same amount. Coralee Gainesville Fl Home of the Fighting Gators.

Dear Burt,

Having enjoyed some of your products and your Friday videos, one issue that I have not seen addressed is that of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I tend to have thoughts that come and go, sometimes for a long time, and am wondering if you have a technique to control them, or if you know of some medication, natural supplements, that help with this. Thank you for what you are doing for humanity.

Hi, I looked at the 1st part of the Free course...By the time I had read through the introductory info tho, I was so jazzed that I just went ahead and bought the entire course. I got the download course for $99. I am really looking forward to it. Could Not wait to get started!! I ran into a problem with the download tho. I CAN NOT DOWNLOAD module#9, it DOES NOT EXIST on your server. I keep getting the same error over and over again. I have contacted support but have NOT heard from them. It has been 3 days now. Support says I should have a response in 24-48 hours...did not happen in my case tho. I would not want to miss any part of this course, I may miss some integral part of the process.

Anything you can do for me is appreciated. I need another
link or download, or something. This is very important to me, as I did not really have the money to spend as it was. I went way out on a limb here hoping to make things a little better in my life. The Original error code found on your page is below:

Dear Burt,

I'm sending you waves of appreciation and gratitude for sharing your videos and paintings!

Here's my question: How can I best server my aging parents, who are in a retirement center they are not very happy with, yet they seem reticent, tired and perhaps fearful to change, and not sure of what to change to? At the same time, they don't want me to tell them what to do. Any ideas?

HI BRUT. I REALLY ENJOY YOUR VIEDOS! THIS ONE IS REALLY GOOD. I FORGOT ABOUT HOW TO BLESS MY FOOD TILL I WATCH YOUR TALK TODAY!
MY MOM USES THIS WAY TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT THEY NEED FOR THEIR BODYS. SAY IF THEY NEED VITI. D SHE WOULD HOLD THEIR ARM UP AND IF THEY NEEDED IT THEIR ARM WOULD BE WEAK. IF THEY DIDNT NEED IT SHE COULD NOT PUSH THEIR ARM DOWN EASEY. ITS WORKS!! YOU ARE A BLESSING TO MANY, AND TO ME!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! LUANN

Hi!Burt!

I teach at a school, and what you said, about our kids making wrong choices and paying a price is what I tell the student's you are only thinking of yourself's and not what you are putting your parents threw. I also, tell them that I love them but hate the bad choices that they make. Some of them have had a turned around for the best. It's hard for parents not to blame themselves, but they have done a great job of raising their kids, it's just that their's alot of peer pressure for teens.

I really love your Daisy pond picture it's so relaxing just by looking at it. I love all of your paintings,I'm always excited when I open your vedios.

Until next time God bless you always!

Hi Burt, I love your painting and I also enjoy the fact that it is SO different from MY Daisy Pond...It is beautiful the way we are all so unique! So, my husband has been dead for six years. I still feel his pressense, he sometimes visits in my dreams and the thought of a new relationship feels wrong. Some of my close friends are sick of hearing me mention his name and think I should LET GO & MOVE ON.What do you think?
Thank you,

Dear Burt,

You are the cherry on top of my Friday!

For several years I have seen strings of 111's and 444's and they feel very synchronistic. I was wondering if you've ever had certain numbers follow you around, and what you consider them to mean.

annette says

hello Burt
Thank you for sharing your latest creation. It drew me in, the colours resonated and the play of light uplifted. As you painted and as you revisit, there will be much pleasure in its contemplation. Wonder ful.
A meditative visual reference which I shall use.

Change is best when one is considered part of the process - harder to accept when imposed as handcuffs of micromanagement for the glory and sole purpose of justifying an upper management vision rather than for the good of the people who would be served by the now worker ants. The challenge within that change then becomes how to work within the imposed changes and still be true to self in true service to others.

Daniel says

I'm curious, Burt...is there a significant other in YOUR life? If not, do you even have the desire? I understand some masters have achieved a level of unconditional love that render it meaningless to choose a certain someone as a mate, or even to choose a specific action to take for that matter. I know you keep busy, as most world-renowned people do. It seems famous individuals are so because of the fact that they are so lively and that's why everyone wants to witness them. I have to question the motivation behind these kinds of actions though. What is the desire if there is nothing lacking? I think everyone wants to be witnessed, as well as to witness. I just wonder if someone like me could ever find constant change and activity more inviting and natural enough that I wouldn't feel like I was lacking anything or even have the needs that cause people to want mutually fulfilling relationships. Even if I could, at least from where I am now, I think I'd rather choose to share by way of a romantic relationship and have it be something more than just a temporary crutch until we outgrow each other and that be the end of it. That's such a lonely notion to me -- the very thing which gives life to desire and motivation (romantic prospect) is given nothing back when that life is made to be used for individual growth. It's like a white hole giving so ceaselessly that it carries us away. Is it possible that a relationship not be based on needs? True NEEDS are irreducibly air, water, and food. I just wish I knew what the healthiest way is to enjoy myself as well as others, without there being any toxicity, burdens, weaknesses, etc.

I know my comments are sometimes too much to address, but that in and of itself is, I feel, something...

Sergi says

Thank you Burt for your guidance and empowerment.

Hi Burt,
I love every second of this video. I like the paint. I love to bless the food I eat. I do one thing at a time with the priority. I look at the change and the result of changing in me. I love my children unconditionally, and I am able to tell them if there are anything I do not like them to do. Energizing water works excellent even for human beings. Thanks.
Looking forward to see you next week. Annie

Ljerka says

Dear Burt,

I was quite surprised when I saw your painting of the Daisy pond, because mine was completely different. Only now have I realized that my pond was more of a pool and less of a pond. All around my pond there are big bushes full of flowers and I can see trees somewhere far in the distance. And there is a lot of sunshine all over.
But I like your pond, only I miss some more sun. You might get lost in your forest. But I think I'll change my pond a bit.

Thank you,

Ljerka

Lucia says

Hi Burt,

I Love your picture of the trees and lake (pond). You truly are a great artist :) . I enjoyed your talk on the unconditional Love for your child. We all need to remember that we guide children but then they own their own feelings, morals and mistakes. Adults should not feel responsible after a certain age. The glass of water and giving it energy.....LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a Wonderful Day and a Energetic Weekend :)
Love, Lucia

Good day to you Burt!

I love the Daisy Pond. I would stay there all day every day if I could.

Burt, life is the journey of a lifetime. I can see that but I find myself caught between knowing what to do and actually making it happen. I feel as though the people who still live in ignorant bliss have it so much easier than anyone walking an intentional path to enlightenment. I have been taking a hard look at life (especially my own) and the more I take in, the more confused I feel. I understand why we are here and what we are meant to do here but everything still seems dull. Burt how do I take my journey and make it shiny and bright when I feel like the more I come to understand the more lonely I feel? I sometimes wish I didn't start this journey. That just sounds wrong, I know but it is where I am stuck. Your wisdom would be appreciated Burt.

Emily says

Dear Burt,

Thank you for your videos. I enjoy each and every one.

I was particularly drawn to your painting in the background. I come from New England and the scene reminds me of many rural NE forest areas. Since I have lived in NE for a few years, it was a refreshing scene that I miss tremendously. Thank you for painting it.

Secondly, please define "clobber" in your video as firm but loving, nonviolent discipline administered with restraint and without anger. I know this is what you meant, but others are conditioned by their background and may have a different understanding of this term. "A rising tide lifts all boats."

Thank you.

Emily

Hi Burt,

Your painting is so beautiful and alive. I love it. Also, thanks for the your advice. You are so right by noticing the difference between unconditional love and keeping your principles. This is great.

HI Burt, I so enjoy your "words" and always get something out of them, most often they will coincide with something that I am struggling with inside or with something I'm researching....I wish I'd heard of you 30 years ago so I would be that much more "tuned in" now but as you know...better late than never! Thank you so much for the wonderful gifts you give us!

considering yr open mind & educative short videos, I suggest that u stop SELLING stuff, & be open to donations. The benefit that yr candid & short advice gives to us will by God's grace be amply covered by the donations u shld get.
Give it a try, & we will waste less time trying to filter out the marketing stuff from real advice.

hi Burt I love your painting I throught I was looking out your window.

Marilyn R Williams says

Hi Burt,
Thanks for answering my question - I did exactly what you suggested - 15 years ago, and I am happy I did. But, I did wonder if I was being unloving - now I know it was the right thing to do.

The painting is great, but I pictured the daisy pond as more open - there were trees, but further back from the water. It is interesting to see what your intention was and it will be interesting to see what I see next time I visit the pond. Have you painted a picture of the pond itself?

Can't seem to think of an advice question - so I guess I'll just post this blog on Facebook and call it a night.

Thanks again for answering my question and always helping us out with our concerns :)

See you next week,
Marilyn

Amber says

Dear Burt,
My question for you is: About a year ago I attracted exactly the guy I wanted, except I forgot to mention his location so here I am a year later, married n 12,000 kms away from home in a city I dont even speak the language with no friends, family or work. My question is how do I get over this feeling of uselessness and lonliness and get a job without being able to speak the first language here? I feel like my situation is taking a toll on me and also starting to affect my relationship too.

Thank you,

Amber
