A Rose By Any Name… 365

As I have shared with all of you before, I enjoy painting. In fact, along with the creative stuff I do, to relax, I either meditate, write, or paint. I thought it would be nice to share some of my newest work with you all.

All of these paintings were inspired by a Quantum Jump I took recently. Now I need your help to name them. Please leave your suggestions in the comments!

Burt

PS #1 and #10, are the same, except that one is clearer then the other. I would call it, watching you.
If you look closely you will see an eye in it.

Ok Burt, I'll be honest with you. I have a picture on my fridge, done in crayon, by my 20 month old Great Grandson, that greatly resembles your panting's. It doesn't take any real talent do this type of art, I believe that any one on earth (or from space) of any age could do this. However, I applaud your color choices and I'm fascinated with the pictures that I see within the pictures. My particular favorite is #9, do you see the lady dancing? In fact I would name that one, Lady Dancing. As for the rest of them,
since they came from a QJ, I would suggest that jump again in order to name them.

Blues Skies,
Sandy

I like them very much. I would call the collection....the energy series, and leave it to the viewer to contemplate what each piece meant to them in terms of 'energy'

Hi Burt,

I love the bright colors and the freedom you express in your paintings. The ones I liked best and in this order are: #'s 7, 1, 4, 6, 9 & 10. In some of them I see things or put together things and that's fun too. Maybe one of these days I'll feel free enough to take up a paint brush and have some fun with it, I think you do. Keep going.

my knowledge is zero as far as art is concerned.
I truly cant comment as I do not know what the art represents. I realise it is modern art and I cant comment.
Sorry

Hello Burt,
You named your paintings because perhaps that is what you were trying to display;
My honest opinion is;
A person with a paint brush with no direction.
I see a lot of posibility without direction.
On one of the paintings it looked like
A lot of golden yellow and green healing colors mixed with red for energy with no place to go.
However, I am a Psychologist and my reasoning is from
an objective point of view.
But, what I pick up psychicly is someone having fun
with colors and colors to me are always beautiful because they are God's Color Rays...

The colours are attractive, Burt, but I am afraid that they are not something I can appreciate myself.

Curious though, for your titles.

Kriss Siler says 1 month, 3 weeks ago

First, your paintings remind me of Jackson Pollack's. Second, I love all of them, however my favorites are Pictures 3, 4 and 9.
Third, the following are my suggestions for names, though I honestly feel the artist, you, Burt, should name them, for you are the only one who knows what you were thinking when you painted them:

1. Infinity #1
2. Alien Feasting on Duck
3. Good, Good, Good Vibrations
4. Children at Play
5. The Devil Made Me Do It
6. Frolicking Birds
7. Ride the Rockies
8. Don't Fence Me In
9. Champions on Ice
10. Infinity #1

Thank you so much for sharing your art, Burt. I can honestly say that for me, because art is so subjective, I like your work better than some of Jackson Pollack's.

Hello Bert, Interesting , don't think they belong in a museum. But I am sure because you are who you are you will get what ever you want for these pictures.
I did not look at anyone's posted comments. So here goes. I. Separate worlds 2. The Devil Sings Pretty Music 3. Faster Than Lightening 4.Self Discovery
5. Too Much Space Travel or for short,,,Scattered Matter 6. Lion Tamer 7. Clear Pathways 8. Life within A Cell 9. Hear Me, Hear Me 10. seperate Worlds, same as first picture.

Martha says 1 month, 4 weeks ago

2. E.T.

4. seahorse
5. angry red bug
6. guitar man
7. chariot
8. flight of the bumble bee
9. ghost
10. circus elephant II

maria says 1 month, 4 weeks ago

Beautiful! My favorites were #1 and #10.

Gail says 1 month, 4 weeks ago

Can anyone say "Jackson Pollack?" I wonder what Mr. Goldman and Pollack share? This link goes to a site that will let you know a lot about Pollack: http://www.nga.gov/feature/pollock/

ichelle says 1 month, 4 weeks ago

#1 is it a collage? it has an eye in the middle.
#2 looks like a creature alongside a manatee out in space
#3 looks a little bit like an airplane with greenery and sky mixture
#4 looks like a musical staff with the notes fighting and mimicing each other at the same time
#5 is a very colorful beetle in flight
#6 astral or LSD party
#7 carriage
#8 owl violinist perched upon piano
#9 dancers drawing down the moon
#10 clearer than #1

you have a lot of movement in your paintings. a lot vocal points and musical undertones. it really takes someone with an understanding of art to appreciate anything much different than a photograph so don't let certain ones discourage you. the important thing is that you love what you do and you do what you love.

Hey Burt,
Here are my thoughts:
1-Dog threw-up on the rug
2-Alien Road-Kill

6-After the Kids were finished Fingerpainting
7-SeaSickness
8-Parrot-Head
9-MMM-What's for Dinner?
10-Colorful Maze

Hi Burt: Thanks for sharing. I think they might be nice as enamel jewelry pieces. Have you considered extending these designs to jewelry, fabric, ceramics, etc. I would love a bag with any of the artpieces on them. They are fun to look at. Also, it would be fun to view a video of you painting since spending time watching you paint might be less likely. Thanks for letting us share in your creation. You are cool Burt, Vicky B.

2 "Don't fear the reaper" - looks like one of the four horsemen of the apocolypse
3 "Space Cowboy" - it looks like bulwinkle riding a rocket
4 "lost" - an alien lost on our planet scared out of it's wits griping a gun for dear life
5 "Careful What You Wish For" - a demon coming to collect his dues
6 "co-existance" - heaven hell and earth i see the eternal flames of as well as the soothing waters of heaven and in the background the green of our planet
7 "Primal Dance for the heavens"
8 "A mother love" - the pink and coulorful is a child who has dropped something over the edge of the bridge and is reaching for it the yellow behind is the mother running to grab her child before she falls
9 "the rising of the tide" - pagans dancing a rite for the moon
10 "harmony with mother earth" - there is a face at the top that looks like a woman warmly embarcing the earth

thanks for asking for input its always fun to see what others think if you could a response to my response would be cool thanks bunches

Hi Burt,

I think they all are very good, but if you look at them very close, they have a character feature of the Brain and a higher mind.

All of your paintings i think are thought provking. However I am extremely drawn to picture seven it is beautiful. It makes me feel joyful and loved.

Brian says 4 months ago

I will give my impressions of the pictures and if they inspire a label, all to the good:

pic 1 and pic 10 are of a space battle with fighter/bombers attacking and destroying a cruiser

pic 2 is an alien traveling through space in a phantom one man ship; he has a look of conternation

pic 3 is emotion and light crashing out of the confines of a music staff

pic 4 are a group of gremlins having a rite of passage involving passing through a ring of lightening

pic 5 is a lava elemental communicating through the veil between our dimensions

pic 6 is a satellite view of an alien landscape

pic 7 I see a frog wizard with a conical hat flying through the ether and creating form; my wife sees a map : )

pic 8 is the mitochondra opening up to reveal the elementals at work (did you know the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell and it has its own DNA passed down by the maternal line? It may have been an afterthought addition to animal cells to rev up their power and all animal development)

pic 9 are salamander elementals drawing from pure energy and spirit and form to create the actualization of their fire spirit selves and dancing away

I noticed others made a connection to music too. I agree with the idea of not naming each one, but assigning them numbers in the series. I liked "Celestial Symphony," though I would prefer "Music of the Mind," which combines imagination (rather than making them outside the mind or beyond it)with music. It maintains simplicity and uses alliteration, which seems appropriate to certain similarities found among the works of art.

From Burt Goldman.
Friends I posted this a while back but unfortunately misspelled my own art web-site. To see more of my art please go to http://www.burtsart.us

This is from me, Burt Goldman.

These are my drip paintings. When they were created I thought I would have something to say and the best way would be for everyone to see what they alone saw; not what I did when they were created. Kind of like a metaphysical Rorschach test with each painting signifying what a person would feel when they looked at it. Well it worked out entirely too well.

In just two days, as you can see here, there have been over 2,500 suggestions. And no two alike. Alas, not one of the suggestions matched any of my ten. So what do you see? My names for the paintings, I discovered, were mine alone.

Call the painting whatever you like and you will be correct. In the meanwhile…enjoy them. See these and a few more at my art website, http://www.burtarts.us (wrong, it's http://www.burtsart.us. You’ll discover what I saw in them. They will be posted at burtsart.us on Friday, June 19, 2009.

Hello Burt
If you are to name the pic's by a group name; I thought that Colors In Motion or Colors by inspiration sounds good.

Marie says 4 months, 2 weeks ago

Dear Burt;
My name is Marie.
I do not know exactly what quantum jumping is.would you please tell me.
For 36 years I was very spiritual, having a variety of spiritual experiences, which I totally treasured.I never had any control,or totally understood, but I knew I wanted that for all of my life.I also have had experiences similar to your pictures.I have never taken drugs,or anything.I considered myseld very blessed and special for that. In January 2009 everything stopped. now I am missing that so much, and really want to have those abilities back.I am on a very serious spiritual journey, not a physical journey.I do need someone qualified to figure everything out.
I am very serious about this and would appreciate your help very much!
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Marie ~ prettybird1120key@yahoo.com

Burt, I want you to do a painting titled "A pot of Goldman"

It would really be funny and I would laugh so hard. Especially if the picture looks funny to. Oh, I know, have your head sticking out of a pot of gold with a smile.

I just thought the title was a real funny though.

I feel sorry for the people who discredit you and your art. Just because it is not their cup of tea, doesn't mean they should use foul language. A shame really, because this is a forum or website that should be able to rise above that kind of post. Although I am not into abstract art, I like the vivid colors and definitely has a feel of energy.
Love and blessings to all!

That is how I see it Burt. You know God that's what I see in the images.God working through you to make art that reveals himself even more as the action caused by Himself from within and all actions are caused by GOD-IAM-ME.All is "IAM" so we are all reflections of one another in a world that just grows and expands with more life as time goes on with an extending "NOW"

Dear Burt,
I wish that humans on this planet would express themselves without fear. I am a visual art teacher at an elementary school I teach the grades(K-8). When my students tell me that they cannot do it I tell them: yes you can. They worry that the outcome is not good enough. All I want them to do is to use their creativity. Burt and everybody out there use your creative juices as much as possible.

Carol says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Can you tell us what double told you to throw paint at the wall and why? Not to say it wasn't hard but to name them. Now that's HARD. Only you can do that as it was your frame of mind at the time. Go back and ask your double what to name them, perhaps they have a reason for them that we don't know and only you can bring to us.

Good luck, I have no idea. It all looks like nothing but scripple to me. But I know nothing about art. If I like it, I like it. This I don't like, but that's just my taste. I prefer your other paintings. I understand them or perhaps I can see what they represent so I understand them.

Keep up the good work. And THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR OPENING MY MIND.
Carol

Annasydney says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Hi, Burt ~
I enjoyed ALL the posting responses, even those which seemed hostile or judgmental. (Key word = "seemed".) They are all just a reflection/projection of each one's current understanding of how things are in the Universe. And all will grow and change, and eventually Awaken. Every perception is valid.....from that one's point of view at the time. In honoring each other, we honor ourselves!
Our function in the meantime, is to Love each at the place where they are at, without judgment. And if we find that difficult (as I sometimes do), then that is a cool indicator of another area of Shift needed within our OWN personal perceptions and consciousness.....so, back to the drawing board: when we are willing and ready!
The paintings, names for (what fun! thanx for this unique, playful opportunity!!):

1) "A Frog By Any Other Name is Still a Quantum Leap"

2) "Shifting in the Void"

3) "Dancing to The Music of the Universal Guitar"

4) "Fishing for Small Truths, Hoping to Land the Big One"

5) "HELP! I'm an Ingredient in Snarl Soup"

6) "What Was I What Am I What Will I Be?"

7) "Lying At Peace in the Sea of Healing"

8) "Eating the Ego....Bit By Tiny Bit"

9) "Spreading My Wings to Dance With the Invisibles"

10) ?? [If "Picture #'s" are at the top of each picture, this appears to be a duplication of #1.)??

I think some of the responses are so bizarre. Rather than naming them or doing nothing, you've gotten some angry responses. It makes me wonder where Cynthia, Penny, and others are in their life that they would sling strong judgments, rather than just not commenting at all.
Thanks for sharing your work, in all it's forms. Joy

cynthia says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Burt with all due respect and I am being as nice as I possibly can--what do you care about about naming these pictures? You created this MONSTROSITY-now you want others to try to come up with an anthem for you. You created it now own up to it. I don't know how to take you anymore. what gives??????

Benedikte says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

As an artist paints a picture, writes a poem or a book, plays or sings a song or dance, he or she expresses a pattern of mind that cannot be expressed with a name alone. Instead the work of art becomes the word for the pattern. I am not sure what you are telling me with your paintings, but it sure seems cosmic.

Added up the name: 'cosmic words with mental tunes' comes up.

Love Benedikte

I paint, too, not paintings for themselves, but as parts of other projects, especially books. I like your freedom and energy. Mine are a little more controlled, but not much.

Avocada says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

What a respond..????Your picture can to be nothing and can to be something, for ex.-A scanning stage of life on the mind, according me.Only the human mind can to create this kind of color-graphic-picture,without or with meaning...Yes,the life as co-existence,can to be very absurd ,just one big adventure.......

Linda says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Burt, I work in a day care and although your paintings are a little less messy there are still a lot of similarities. But, given all that, they say that as we age we enter into our second childhood, so I would call them "Images of my Second Childhood"

#1 & #10 Being the same picture still generate these responses:

#2 "Star Rider" or "Spirit Guide" (This evokes images of Native American art, a warrior or a guide on a horse w/the stars behind him/her).
#3 "Music of the Mind" (I see a musical score mixed in with w/all the color, which might be what music looks like if we could see it).
#4 "Heartshine" (I see a heart in the yellow and all the emotions shining forth)
#5 "The Busy(ness) of Beings" or "Organized Chaos" (It reminds me of LA & STL where people are just so busy being busy).
#6 I would turn this picture so the blue field is at the bottom and the gold is at the top and call it "The Garden".
#7 When I rotated this picture to the left (so the green & yellow were on the right) it says "The Orchestra or Instruments".
#8 On a whimsical note "Surfs Up" but if you want depth "Jonah"

Art is appreciated by an artist who is able to delve into the inner frame self of the artist and follows the hand that draws these images in psychadelic colors.
What I can make of it is immaterial. What it does to the drawer is a blossom of flowers each representing a bloom. Only the author can identify the bloom.

It ought to make a fabulous and innovative exhibition. Sort of a new style performance piece. And, the $ received from your endeavor will be contributed to what worthy cause other than your own personal bills?

All the pictures are beautiful. To me the pictures appeared like something undreamed & unthought of but exist somewhere which can neither be seen nor felt by ordinary eyes. The first picture appeared like wounded tiger, the second one like a bird being hunted by the hawk.
I would name all the pictures as "vision in the outer space" OR "Irractic dreams".

1. Dragon vision Because you can see the dragon looking to and fro in the picture.
2. Ghost of the past Because you can see the ghost flying from past to present,
3. On another plane Because the plane in the middle shows a real plane and represents another plain.
4. Dance of the fairies Because when I look at this one I see many fairies dancing in joy.
5. Hiding behind a mask Because I see the mask in the middle and many of us don't show who we are we hide ourselves.
6. The inner connection Because everything is inner connected to the universe and each other.
7. The wizard of reality Because I see the wizard in the green with his hat in the picture.
8. Hatching a new Idea Because I see something from the egg of inspiration in this picture.
9. A warriors victory because I see the warriors on their horses rearing them up after a victory.
10. Emerging Wisdom Because I see the owl emerging out of the vastness of eternity.

Dear Burt Goldman I am really loving the use of colour, picture 1 looks like the word God written on a sunset with a rocket passing through the front of the rocket that is blue signifying water, the yellow and green showing earth and the red could show blood spilt on mother nature.Picture two looks like the devil in space in a bubble red face two black eyes two legs out of it's head, it's like the devil wants to take the sun stars sea and moon away, the white circle is a pure holy cage.Picture 3 looks like music notes sheet with an red antelope head in grass, blue sky and clouds and another animal head and the sun is red.Picture4 red ship escaping from green white lightning to a yellow explosion.Picture5 red dragon or lobster it's arms and legs are smashed turning to green and yellow oozing out of it's body.Picture 6 I love this one beautiful colours I can see an elephant frog and crocodile all animal faces.Picture 7 red arm pulled out from a body the hand pointing east with index finger the fist has an eye on it.picture 8 looks like a green forest tall trees a fire the yellow is all the smoke where the trees are burnt out and the orange and yellow a volcano errupting and leeking out of the forest.picture 9 not sure but the colours and beautiful picture 10 is picture one with the solar planets moving while the rocket plunges through the Universe.Thank You I really love these painting they remind me of some coloured stones i have I live the colours diffused in one another real art pieces lovely to frame....They are excellent and for those who think it's soooo easy and it's kids stuff please pick up a paint brush and see if you can even compare to these tasteful pieces....best wishes from Gursharan...

the others appear to be other dimensional energy forms amused by your visit, and entertaining you...as well...there are "numbers' which appear repetitively...and no two pictures are showing the same numbers...dimensional messages?...dimensional "road-Signs"?...and look at the frequencies displayed on these awesome spiritual playgrounds you visited...I, by looking at them, can not only hear them...but I can feel their varied frequencies as well...WHAT FUN!!!! You see/...You not only visited...you painted dimensional postcards from your treks, thus allowing all of us to visit as well, in the spirit.

The probability of their consistency as painting to build on is however, unlikely as they are accidents. If you scan sections and, work from these you might be surprised by your successes. Good luck!

They remind me of the nebulae created by stars which have gone super nova. At present there is a relatively rapidly shrinking old red super giant star by the name of Betelgeuse a few hundred light years from our solar system which MAY POSSIBLY be in the early stages of a collapse either directly into a black hole or a collapse which will result in a super nova explosion. After the light of the explosion reaches earth we will see it almost as a night sun for a few weeks. Of course, they could be examples of one of the points you like to make to show us how the mind acts, lol. ( Nice stuff by the way!) Later after the supernova has blasted debris for awhile in all directions, it would look through a telescope a bit like your pictures as can be seen in pictures of the crab nebula today.

Bert,

I agree with Krista. Give it a series name and number them. A painter and fan of Jackson Pollock myself, I believe the viewer "finishes" the work by bringing their own experiences. All of the posts have a name so they are all good names. Titles can get in the way of forcing the viewer to see the work in a limited way. Art of this nature contains motion and is unbounded like the Universe. Why limit it with a name...

George E. Kovacs says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I like picture #1 and especially picture #3 which strongly reminds me of music.

Charlene says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Dallen hit the nail on the head. Love your answers. Especially 1 and 10. The others were insightful. The best so far.

sonia says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I see series of pictures of your meditation session. very first picture is going around the world trying to find answer to your question and by picture 8 you find answer to your problem (A helicopter sent by an angle for rescue).
even though pic 1 and 10 appear to be same but they are not. pic 10 is sharper than pic 1. I say before meditationthought were fuzzy by the the end of session there was clarity in thoughts.

Picture 6, I see disastor all over the floods, the fires, draught and very little greenary, there is no way to escape from it.

your session ends with more clear thoughts than when you started the session.

My my, I've never seen such a complete bunch of CRAP in all my life. The monkey comment is spot on. And it seems you have a whole room full of them here adoring your nonsense. Dear Burt, a painter you are NOT. I have better ART hanging on my fridge from my 4 year old.

ralph says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

By the Way Burt i really LOVE number 9 !!

successbeverly2000@yahoo.com says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

You have helped me so much with everything in my life.
I am alive again, thank you.
These paintings are truly beautiful.

ralph says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Hi Burt :) seeing as though you associate these paintings with Quantum Jumping I would tend to see them as a series, The main theme in my mind when i look at them is that they are Microcosmic close ups of Vibrational Movements, each colour used corresponding to a differant Vibration, They could be called any number of things but i Might call them "Quantum Meditations" and number them 1 - 10.. or something like that :) Much Love
ralph

Beautiful Art.

My favourites are 2, 6 and 9.

The 1/10 totally reminded my of the "Fly Spaghetti God". ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster )

Maybe the collection is from the Pastafarian Dimension.

irina says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Wonderful pictures!#2 "Escape";#9 "Dance of Angels";#8 "Dreamer"

John Otradovec says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

These paintings remind me of the CD's you sent me they don't work. Then your office personnel rubs it in by telling me I am within the 90day window for returns If I provide a receipt which I don't have. Please Don't solicit me with any other junk I can't use. Your Friend

MARLO C. says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

HEY BURT, MY BEING NATIVE AMERICAN DESCENT, #8 IS THE ONLY ONE THAT SPEAKS TO ME,IT LOOKS LIKE AN EAGLE OR HAWK,IN FLIGHT (IT`S WINGS BROUGHT FORWARD), EVEN PLACED UPSIDE DOWN, IT LOOKS LIKE AN ANIMAL OF SORTS, SO, I WOULD NAME IT `TOTEM SPIRIT`. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR RECENT WORKS, & FOR ASKING FOR MY OPINION. BLESSINGS TO YOU BURT, MARLO C.

kim says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

#1 Nebula
#6 SuperNova
#3 wormhole
#2 is quite beautiful but really wouldn't know what to give it as a title.

They remind me quite a bit of space photos/art from Omni magazine in the 80's. Very nice.
Thanks for sharing.

Oded says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Great Paintings
They are full of detail but still leave much for the imagination. They were so thought provoking that I found 2 names for each, some close and some very different. Here are the names:
1. A Dream of a Crocodile / The Wolf Who Dwells with the Lamb
2. The Big Apple / Show Business
3. Fly Me to the Sun / Fight or Flight
4. Celebration in a Flower / A Journey in the Desert
5. Explosion of a Watermelon / Sleeping Bud Burst into Bloom (from The Phantom of the Opera)
6. Tropic Fruit / Marketing
7. Life Underground / A Dissolving Shoe
8. Love Boat / The Injured Snail
9. Dance of Spirits / Revolution

I hope you enjoy the names.
Thanks,
Oded

5.Alien Flight
6. Deep See
7.Red Tide

Hi Burt,

These are wild and I think they are great! My faves are 4,5,7.

Why not just simply call them "The Quantum Jump Collection"?

Libby Berngard says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I would call the entire collection:
Pathways

irina says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

#3 "Escape";#8 "Dreamer";#9 Dance of Angels".Love them!

Charlene says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I noticed you didn't post my first comment. Yet I felt it was a good observation on my part, that being, "isn't #1 and #10 the same painting (#1 being a blurred version). Anyway, Burt, No. 6 reminds me of a picture I fell in love with some 40-odd years ago. It looks like a "daydream". #5 "kaleidoscope". Very interesting work. You're fearless.

jeri hyde says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

OOPS

Sheela says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

1 and 10 look the same to me!! Here's my 2-cents ... Seems like a story here of loss and release So, the series could be called "Towards Freedom"

1. Broken
2. Scared
3. Giving up
4. Attempt to fly
5. Bleeding heart
6. Lost
7. Breaking the bonds
8. Climbing out
9. Angels rejoice!

Thanks for sharing, Burt!

Ruth says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Hi Burt, I love the abstract work. It gets the conscious linear mind out of the way to perceive it!

No 1 and No 10 are the same image.

No 1 and 10 - Perpetual Flow
No 2 - Apple of my Eye
No 3 - Dancing the Music
No 4 - Emerging Peace
No 5 - Complimentary Chaos
No 6 - We're all part of the Big Picture
No 7 - Out of the Formless
No 8 - Going Deeper
No 9 - Ascension

As for the comment about all preschoolers must be genius - THEY ARE quite literally because they have not yet closed their perceptions to block their access to their intuitive senses. Most of us as adults have to work really hard to get it back once it is lost.

All expression as art is worthwhile in the same way as all people making that expression are worthwhile. In the same way as with people - we may not all resonate with art that is at a different frequency than where we are. That's what makes life interesting and fun - that we are not all robots following a script and have to all be and do the same.

Awesome job Burt - keep on painting!

Ruth

Judy says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

You might consider naming this collection
"Other worlds" and just keep the numbers
you've given each already. It's all us!
Thanks and blessings to you, special one.

Krista says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Nice paintings! How about "Quantum Jump Series"...that way you don't name them anything in particular, just let the viewer bring whatever it brings to them.

jean says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

6-is the one that talk to me the most at this moment.

Villy777 says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I like #2 and #8, Burt. They 'speak' to me.

Best,

Will

Salah says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Dear Burt,

I know not what is on your mind. You have something to say, I guess.

I found there on the canvas, nine pictures not ten. The zero you added to number 1 remains a zero. Hence #10 remains #1.

Here is my call:
1. Life tracks
2. Harmony
3. Quest
4. Dreams
5. Deeper and deeper
6. Discovery
7. Weird
8. The City at no time
9. Friendship
10. Same as 1

With best regards,

Salah

Ghenima says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I am french. I would call them "Voyage sidéral".

Terese says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Oops! The painting is actually number 3, the one with the black lines and the little red circle off the center. This is the masterpiece work of art!

Terese says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Hi Burt.
Picture 4 is the painting that you want to further explore. This painting has great potential! Less is more", the blue blob of paint on the right side of this work of art hides what is underneath. Perhaps using a transparent blue paint would work better! This type of painting is a masterpiece. I would do more of these, actually do a whole series of them.
Titles, hmmm, I would pick my favorite work of literature and randomly open to a page and point my finger to a phrase on the page for abstract titles to match the abstract works. Enjoy!

David says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Hey Burt, the pictures are great but i gotta tell you that if you had a hundred monkeys and put a paint brush in their hands, one if not all could paint like this.Keep up the good work.

Charlene says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Interesting. Isn't painting #1 and #10 the same?

T. J. Birkenmeier says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

There are fast-moving subatomic particles called Quarks...and even smaller light wave/particles called photons that zip and zoom and zig and zag in the quantum world.

Light can be both a wave and a particle.

If you know the speed of a particle, you can't know its precise location. If you know a particle's location, you can't know it's precise speed.

Remember Burt, the "super string" cosmic dance of the Universe is all about vibration.

"The Big Bang was just the sound of the Big Thought" and the Big Thought came from the Really Big Thinker.

I think you might be a "God Particle," not unlike the one being searched for at CERN and Fermi.

You and I are not Quarks...but, we might be Quirks!

How about that for a name for your colorful cosmic creations collection? "Mind Quirks" or "Burt's Super Strings."

Why not make limited-edition numbered prints? I'll produce them for you and help you market them.

I'd buy one! I bet lots of other folks would to!

Unless you wanted to give me a Burt Goldman Original "Mind Quirk" in return for the fabulous "Crystal Capstone" I sent to you.

All is ONE...but, you have known that for an eternity and a day.

Birk,
a.k.a. The Wise Buddha-hahahaha

Burt,

I would call them collectively "Various Dimensions of the Universe"

Migda says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I will call all the series "Welcome to light" collection.

Noelle says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Dear Burt,

I love the art, what comes to mind immediately, is the "Hand of God" or "Man meets the Universe".

Going through them a second time, it's like "Travelling throught the Galaxies".

Regards

I would call them this , because for some lines
of color, don't end.

Picture 1:
Divine Consciousness

Picture 2:
The Universal Mind

Picture 3:
Journey Through Time
(or you could call it 'Quantum Jumping' *wink wink nudge nudge*)

Picture 4:
Cloud Nine

Picture 5:
(Singular) Discombobulation
(got an impression of a face, the yellows and reds come across as embarassment/flushed face)

Picture 6:
On Reaching Nirvana
(that looks like a guy meditating down there, bottom middle)

Picture 7:
Seventh Heaven

Picture 8:
Hibernation

Picture 9:
Frequency

Picture 10:
Atlantis
or
Elysian Fields/Elysium
(sort of an 'island in the sky'/legendary island feel for me)

leslie caplan says 4 months, 3 weeks ago

These are quite beautiful & dissimilar to the other works of yours I have seen. Painting #1 looks like the "Wellspring Paradigm", I don't know how to describe why but it makes sense to me & the way I perceive it. Painting #2 seems quite ominous to me like "Lucifer meets the Chariots of the Gods" though lord knows that's a terrible title for it. Painting # 6 looks like the "Loculus of Archimedes" or just the "Loculus". And Painting #8 looks like "On the Origin of the Species". Of course this is what I see right off first glance & I could change my mind after studying them. Lovely work Burt! Thanks for sharing it w/ us.

Paul says 4 months, 3 weeks ago
