OK, we’ve had a few com­ments since I threw in an inde­pen­dent view point — that Burt may be more about money than kind teach­ing, nuggets though he presents.

It seems a few peo­ple, who don’t appear neg­a­tive in tone, agree with this. How­ever the usual thing is for one to pre­fer the inno­cent answer. It would be just too uncom­fort­able to admit to doubts and that exces­sive money strip­ping is going ahead day after day, with­out any jus­ti­fi­ca­tion or dis­clo­sure as to its use.

Per­sonal med­i­ta­tion and sin­cere teach­ing of peo­ple for free or rea­son­able cost is much needed, today. Some have very few funds to buy the expen­sive items you dan­gle in front of us all in your email cam­paigns. Is that the mark of a true enlight­ened per­son? I would not do that. I’d find every way pos­si­ble to make the teach­ing free. There are many teach­ers who have iden­ti­cal mate­r­ial but who don’t charge at all or who charge very lit­tle and you can tell they are not out for the money.

Then there’s body lan­guage. Just look at two teach­ers reach­ing large num­bers, Burt and Eck­hart on their YouTube videos. *** EckhartTolle.com or EckhartTolleTV.com *** or search on YouTube for free talks. The first two offer a free or small sub­scrip­tion based rich­ness with lots of vari­ety yet inex­pen­sive. It’s like the dif­fer­ence between chalk and cheese. Body lan­guage and vibe is a pow­er­ful source too for us to FEEL, our real sense or inner feel­ings, about the motive if there is one, or the authen­tic­ity. We often get self-tricked into believ­ing what we want to believe. It’s very com­mon. So many peo­ple vote for the wrong politi­cians they may regret later, hav­inh found it dif­fi­cult to be objec­tive. We often go down the route of what we always did, or fam­ily tra­di­tion, and then find we helped a dis­as­ter to happen.

Per­haps the video com­par­i­son will be inter­est­ing to some who may know they can be rather eas­ily led. Most of us under­stand­ably pre­fer all to be sweet and hon­est and that we always think pos­i­tively. Self decep­tion is very com­mon and quite natural.

But today we need to keep things very sim­ple. All spir­i­tual teach­ers through the cen­turies have done that. Life today can drive you mad with its end­less offers and com­mer­cial­ism. Be aware, dear fel­low trav­ellers! I’m not sug­gest­ing judg­ing any­one defin­i­tively, just to go with true feel­ings by let­ting your mind go of any anger or indig­na­tion. Still­ness and calm­ness is the key to bet­ter intu­ition. I wish I could say these things in less words, so sorry! As a sum­mary, enjoy the videos on both of these teach­ers’ sites!!! Then feel the good in each — and let’s remem­ber to note the price!

Just to pitch in… I agree with the com­ments that the flood of mar­ket­ing pitch to buy this and that actu­ally drove me away of buy­ing any­thing. Since I got the free lessons it is been mail after mail of some free stuff and then buy buy! This only to say that for me if every­one, from burt gold­man to the Silva pro­gram keeps cre­at­ing the UlTI­MATE pro­gram every week or so what is going on? only busi­ness and noth­ing else? Do we really need all this stuff? I take stuff out of every­thing I can get my hands for free but offer­ing me 97$ deals seams a bit strange. Is it for OUR good or only a money prospect? I’m all for a good deal and busi­ness enter­prise but it starts to seem too much. Even the free lessons here had a catch, get more peo­ple on their emails listings…

Burt or Jack the claims are good I don’t per­son­ally know you but I admire the fact that you are were you are at your age. Do like Osho and make a web­site were peo­ple really can get good advice and tech­niques that are good for all of us. Share some stuff I don’t say all of it but enough to help more peo­ple that like me funds are not to abun­dant…

…I still don’t get it. Just received an ad for your “quan­tum jump­ing”, and in it, it’s stated that you took up paint­ing at age 80. In this ad, you state that the paint­ings took place in 1989, which would place you at around 60.

I must make this com­ment for your benifit to under­stand my reluc­tance to buy any more of your pro­grams. At first when I recieved your 7 free lessons, they came at a pace that I could try them with­out being rushed. I was enjoy­ing them and felt they were doing me some good. Then all of a sud­den I was bom­barded with buy this and try that until it was con­fus­ing to me. It was like I was brain­washed into buy­ing and it got away from slow pace of med­i­tat­ing that I was accus­tomed to. I enjoyed the free lessons until then.

It is good that you took the time to clar­ify. For all those who have already gone through your works, blogs etc does not need any cre­den­tials to under­stand you.
Where as those new ones, arriv­ing, will get con­fused if the dis­cripency is allowed to go un addressed and may stop explor­ing fur­ther.

I hope these details are clear to us folks in case we feel we are get­ting a good deal here for exam­ple, top right of this page, with the free offer. Can’t we have a chance to chat and praise you with­out being once more drawn into the sales and free­bies sys­tem? There always seems to be the com­mer­cial angle to every won­der­ful page. Funny, that!

Sure, the con­tents are excel­lent. But the same is avail­able in dozens of places. Not much new here. So use the good mate­r­ial you feel can serve you but why feel oblig­ated to go on pay­ing and pay­ing. It’s rea­son­able to get a really cred­i­ble answer and proof that the immense money from so many thou­sands of email addresses at least is going some­where dig­ni­fied! There must be a way to jus­tify it and prove where it’s going. At 80 it’s not just for cups of tea. So where IS it going. It’s OUR money com­ing to you, so we have a good rea­son to ask. What about join­ing forces with the other great teach­ers so you can charge less, reach more peo­ple and con­verge for the good of the world, pri­ori­tis­ing the key sim­ple things first, like Eck­hart. The rest of the life and busi­ness skills will fol­low. But teach­ing 101 things when first we all need to learn still­ness of mind as the basis for any restora­tion of the Earth is a bit waste­ful of our time in my view. But it’s prof­itable! Enuff said! Let’s get some proof please and thank you for the oppor­tu­nity to men­tion these issues.

It is clear from Eckhart’s videos that ‘spir­i­tual thoughts’ are a con­tra­dic­tion in terms. I’ve been med­i­tat­ing for 35 years and see pretty clearly what peo­ple are try­ing to do. Now it’s time for you to answer me in pub­lic and get a grip on why cer­tain peo­ple are truth­ful, pos­i­tive souls, yet sus­pi­cious of your money raking.

I agree with almost every­one. If you say it is so, it is. No one should need proof of some­thing like this. It’s a photo gallery, not rocket science.(but I’ll just bet that you’d be good at that too, if you chose.)

What’s impor­tant is the other infor­ma­tion that you put out. I have prac­ticed what you preach and am now the exec­u­tive direc­tor of a non-profit cor­po­ra­tion that teaches much of what you do. That would not be pos­si­ble with­out belief in manifestation.

But the main thing is that your knowl­edge that you pro­vide us with works. If you were to stop all the guar­an­tees and change your iden­tity, and fly to a hid­den aprt of the world.

That would still leave us with good info.

There’s noth­ing wrong with using a “nom de’ plume” for your paintings…people are so goofy about this kind of thing, like an artist, pho­tog­ra­pher or writer is try­ing to be fraudulent…as if. It’s not at all con­sid­ered a bad thing in the arts. This just goes to show how igno­rant most Amer­i­cans are about the arts.
Look at movie stars, espe­cially in the past…they almost ALL changed their names! With­out the stu­dios hold­ing much power, not so much now.
