Using Your Mind to Accelerate Healing in Your Body
My friend Jose Silva, who founded the Silva Method, used to demonstrate in his classes how he could put someone into a hypnotic state of mind and then suggest to them that the pencil he was holding was red hot and that if the pencil touched their skin they would feel no pain but their skin would produce a blister. One in five people would actually develop the blister from the touch of the pencil. The blister could then be made to disappear automatically, again with mere suggestion.
But it gets weirder… recent studies show that…
- People under hypnotism can be made to tan on command by being made to believe they are under a hot sun.
- Cancer patients can cause their cancer to go into spontaneous remission (which means “disappear”)... through the practice of creative visualization.
- Doctors like J. Bruce Moseley have shown that serious ailments like arthritis of the knee can be cured by changing a patient’s belief system… by “ricking” the patient into thinking a surgery has been performed. They emerged out of the hospital reporting that their pain was gone. But in fact, no surgery was actually performed. The patient had been put under anesthesia and simply made to believe they underwent surgery.
- Children with warts can cause those warts to disappear when a doctor applies ordinary paint to the warts and tells the children that this placebo is a powerful wart remover.
- Bald people can grow hair when given a placebo and made to believe that it’s a miraculous cure for baldness.
This leads to an interesting question…
Just how much of your physical body is influenced by your belief system?
The gap between mind and body seems almost non-existent. Jose Silva believed that as much as 90% of all physical ailments are induced and curable by the mind.
So we know, through modern science, that the mind controls the body.
Is it really that easy to heal?
Truth be told, I can’t tell you exactly what happens when you draw upon ki. I’m not sure what portals open or which mountains are moved to make the connection but I can tell you that it works. During energy healing sessions, I’ve visualized my ki spreading out into the heavens and was rewarded with such vivid imagery that I know I must have been immersed in spiritual energy itself.
My body may have still been standing in the auditorium or sitting in the front seat of a tired van, but my energy—my force—was definitely somewhere else.

Dear Mr. Burt. I am writing to you because you might be my hope, my Daddy's hope. He is 57. He has had a prostate cancer for 8 years, it was cured just after when he found out and was checking his health all the time since then, especially PSA. But unfortunately his PSA was quite high two months ago that he took more tests and it turn out he has metastasis to bones, his PSA is now 40, he is starting to have pain in spine and shoulders' bones. Everything was good till last December and these metastasis now...I am really scared that it may not be cured again, can't sleep just cry and pray to God to not take my father to Heaven as he deserve to have a long life together with my mom. He is just very good and humble person, everybody just loves him and he is also very smart, he is just one of the kind and I am not saying this because he is the Great Dad but I swear, everyone who knows him could say the same. So please Mr. Bart is there any chance to give him the energy, any chance to meet you anywhere. Amazing, to read everyone's comments. The majority, are all seeking hope. It is true, there are some very disturbing circumstance that can appear in anyone's life. Don't lok at the circumstance and make judgments-keep the faith-everything happens for a reason and your good is probably right around the corner. Suicide victims are many times one day from success. Keep in mind this is a transitory life. The best is yet to come. No one is tied to anyone's judgments or opinions. Pleasing your parents is telling them that you love them. Love your friends brothers-when you are facing problems find someone with a problem and help them out. Express thanks when things go well. If you are looking for a healing-you have to have faith that you will be directed to the right place, person, but never give up. Victory is to never giving up.this is a huge world, there is always someone for someone, there is always a job, everyone has a talent, everyone has the potential to be stunning, lovable, fun, there is always a friend. We were given soundness of mind and not fear-fear is the enemy. Keep the faith...things whatever way they work out will be for the best. Hi Burt, This is Awesome that you can do this!!!,I have had low back pain for 14 years now and have to take strong medication which has now cause a stomach ulcer,I have done everything except surgery,I know too many people that came out worse than they were when they went in which lead to more surgeries??I don't want to go through that!! I also have a friend that has 2 cancerous Brain tumors,has done,surgery radiation and chemotherapy,this has taken a big toll on her body,she is like a mom to me and would love to see her healed from this disease,as I believe the Doctors are killing her as this is all they know to do (supposedly)if you can help in any way please contact me as time is of the essence for her!!!Please Help!! I need to heal injuries.
I would like to heal these energetically instead of surgery or chiropractic intervention.
So far energy healers, inlcuding my own attempts at putting the injuries outside of my energy field have not produced the results I imagined.
Can you do distance healing or teach me how to do it for myself.

Question: Do you think that after having back surgery about 4 years ago, which left me with numbness in the bladder, bowel area, lower back, backs of my legs, and the majority of my feet which also have neuropathy...(the doctors also say i have cauda equina syndrome, which effects the lower extremities of the body) IS THERE ANY WAY IN YOUR MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, THAT THE HEALING I'VE SEEN YOU DO IN YOUR VIDEOS, WOULD WORK FOR ME?
