Here we are again with our 30th edition of Dear Burt!

This time, I’m going to address only one question regarding one of the 7 principles. A lot of you have been asking me to address them one by one in more detail. So today, we will talk about mentalism then. As it’s such an important principle, I decided to put the entire text above the video as you may want to read it over once or twice to really let it set in.
The principle of Mentalism, that says the universe is a mental creation of God, is perhaps one of the most inexplicable and mysterious of any principle as it involves the unknowable.
God, or as the followers of the teachings of Hermes say the All, is absolute and beyond understanding; all we can do is guess; and the guesses I can safely say will all be wrong. God is infinite, and eternal; meaning God had no beginning but has always been, and will have no ending but will always be.
That alone is beyond comprehension. How can anything have no beginning? That my friends is the divine paradox. But allow me to address the fact that God is infinite. Being infinite he is in and of everything. I use the term ‘he’ loosely as God would have to be genderless and perfect. You can neither diminish nor add anything to him.
The universe is a mental creation. That goes along with the infinite nature of God. Allow me to use a metaphor as that is the only way to get even close to a comprehension of what I am attempting to say.
You can create a being, or an event in your mind. Every play, every book, every motion picture is a created fantasy, not real, but created by the mind of a person. An infinite being creates infinitely. In other words, all that is, all that was, and all that will be has been created in the mind of God. That is infinity. I touch on this in Quantum Jumping because if the universe is infinite everything imaginable, and much more that is unimaginable has already been created. Every being, every animal and vegetable, every grain of sand, every molecule and every time period, past present and future is already there…in an infinite universe.
If that is difficult to understand how about eternity? Many faiths believe that after death they will awaken in heaven, paradise, glory. That would be nice for ten years or so of perfect living in a perfect world. But how would you feel doing the same thing for a hundred years, or a thousand, or ten thousand. And after ten thousand years of paradise with the perfect woman, or man, or place to reside you can look forward to another ten thousand. Wow. Twenty thousand years of doing the same thing. How about a hundred thousand years, a million, a hundred million years of paradise with the same person, the same perfect events. And after a hundred million years, even though you may be a bit tired of all that perfection you can look forward to a hundred million more, and then another and another. After all this is eternity.
Logically, something here is amiss. But God didn’t create us to suffer or to prosper. He didn’t create us to be bad, or good. He created all types and then gave us free will and created the law of causality, commonly called cause and effect. What they do with that resolve is up to the individual. When a writer writes a play he directs the characters and is the puppeteer; a writer is the obvious cause. But what if the writer had the ability to create the cast of the play, and the setting, and then allowed the characters to go their own way, to do their own thing, to allow the characters to create cause themselves. Might be an interesting play, but the writer would have to be an infinite being to do that so we can only guess at what the outcome would be.
As I only have ten minutes to get this point across I can only hope to stimulate your mind and get you to using more of it, to think. God must be immutable. He cannot be changed, nor added to or subtracted from nor become greater or lesser in any respect. He must have always been and will always remain, what he has done in the creation of all these creatures of the universe is to experience. Now God does not need experience, he doesn’t ‘need’ anything. He is, all that is. Why did God create the universe? We can never know that. We can only use the concept of the universe being a mental creation of God in our own lives. We are also mental creators. Every thing, every dress, shoe, tie, suit, car, pencil, house, building, everything was created by the mind of a human being. In that we are all imitators of the creator of all things.
Know that you too are a creator. Get to understand your mind a bit better and you will find the way. The universe is a mental creation of God. Your world is a mental creation of yourself. Many of you know that I’ve used this concept over and over again during the thirty and more years I’ve been teaching personal development. Your world is a mental creation.
Where do you find yourself, where are you at present? You may not realize it, it may seem that forces beyond your control put you there, but the fact is, you did it. You did it with your attitude, your beliefs, your actions and your mental creations. You too are a creator, a mental creator. The great principle of Mentalism states, the universe is a mental creation of God. You are part of that creation, but you have free will. You have the ability to change, to progress, to grow, to evolve. To be a better person. To be a better and better person.
My advice to you, should you be interested is to be the best you that you can be. But know that through the dynamic use of your mind you do have the ability to be a better person, a better you. How about starting now, right now. What can you do if you made up your mind to be a better person? I can’t tell you that. But think about this, what would your life be like if you were a better person?
Only you can take the first step. Do something today, or if it is late in the afternoon or evening when you’re reading or hearing this, do something tomorrow that you will be proud of, something that will please you. I can’t tell you what that is, only you can. Sit quietly for a few moments, meditate and call on your higher self, what would that self tell you to do to make you a better person, a person you will be proud of—a person your ancestors will be proud of? And then, do it.
There is a road ahead of you with many forks in it. Each one involves a choice. Your reality is the result of the choices you made in the past. Your future life will be the result of the choices you make in the future.
Make good ones. Each choice is a cause for an upcoming effect. Good luck, and may God smile on you.

Thank you so much for your work and your love!?The Principle of Mentalism has always been a mystery to me. If everything is a result of God’s mind, then we must be too a result of God’s mind. Or are we a fragment of God, the same as He is? We are far from perfection, so how could we be a fragment of God? And how could we be a creation of God with such defects? (I’m thinking in war, genocides, pedophilia and so on)?Would you say something about this topic??Bless you.

Sharing Techniques
Hi all,
Thought I would start a thread about some of the techniques we use in our spiritual development. Some to compare notes, and maybe learn something new and workable along the way. I have a number of things spirit has taught me over the years and was generally instructed a few months back to start sharing them with others. I put a copyright on these techniques, not to prevent others from using them and sharing them, but primarily to prevent someone from taking the technique and profiting from it. Spirit's gifts are to be freely shared. Naturally, any and all questions are welcome.
Raising your Vibration
This is an exercise that you can do to start moving yourself up the vibrational ladder if you so choose. The energies of the sun, Ra, are our birthright at human beings on this planet. Our chakra centers are set up to receive higher vibrational energies from the sun, which are received through our Solar Plexus chakra (imagine that!). This exercise, over time, will produce very gratifying energy heightening power in your body.
Co-creation is the name of the game when doing this kind of work. Asking and having your body (cell system) co-operate in receiving these energies will go a long way in expediting your growth process. I will number the steps of the process for easier reading.
1. Verbally instruct your cell system that it is to co-operate with the infusion of solar energies you are asking for. This verbalization creates a vibration and is also a statement of co-operative intent on your part that you wish to receive the solar energy input.
2. Ask (do not invoke) the sun to infuse you with his solar energy.
3. Sit back and relax. Visualize a warm solar globe at your sloar plexus. As you relax and breathe, visualize the solar energy infusing your body, hitting the other chakras, working its way up through your chest and down your arms - also moving the other direction down your trunk into your legs. As the energy comes in, you should feel a warmth as well as a heightened level of energy - sort of like you had too much caffeine. This is normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Feel the energies as they reach your crown chakra. You will probably feel a tingling sensation at your crown, again, nothing to be alarmed about.
With these simple steps you have opened the solar gateway to your body. The process only needs be done in this manner a few times until your cell system (the body's computer) becomes assimilated to accepting the energy. Once assimilated, a simple asking of the sun for the energies will suffice - no longer needing the visualization process.
Because we are all at different vibratory levels in our development some people will feel very little to start with, but with intent and repetition of the exercise you will be able to dial in to these energies. Others whose vibrations are already operating at higher frequencies will notice the difference right away. The process works for everyone, provided you stick with it until you can feel it.
Ra's energies are healthful and lifegiving. Many people have heard of the 'angel' Rafael. Rafael is an energy technician (using a more modern term for angel) and Rafael can be asked to assist in this assimilation and energy receiving process. These energies in some mystic school are called the Fire of Life energies.
If you perform these steps as written, then very soon you shoud see results for your work. Once you start assimilating Ra's energy, your vibrational level will start heightening, opening the way for other energies available as you develop further.
BTW - Ra is not the Sun God as in ancient lore, it is merely his name. Nor does he expect worship.

I have these techniques posted at Yuwie in my metaphysics club there, but maybe I will be wiser this time and post them all in one place so people do not have to search them out. There are varying techniques here, everything from a simple quick centering technique to working with relegatiting thoughts to quiet the mind. Not only have I found these techniques effective, but so have others. It is my hope that they also work for you. I have worked to edit these things, but please forgive any typos you may encounter.
Thought Relegation - getting to sleep
Here is a simple, yet effective tool for stilling those thoughts that seem to race through our heads many nights when all we want to do is sleep.
Accept that our souls are huge and that we operate on multiple levels of reality all the time. Many New Age texts claim that we are multi-dimensional but offer little in the way of practical application of utilizing our higher selves to help us out in 3D. So I pondered on useful applications and came up with the following tool that we can all use.
Most all of us are subject to the racing mind syndrome, particularly when we have life crises and worry to plague us and keep us awake at night. I was subject to such a bout of worry one night a few years back, can't remember what it was about at this time, but the point is I decided to try something new. I verbalized the sentence that 'I relegate all this thinking to my 4D mind'. This active verbalization had immediate and profound effect. My mind suddenly stopped the incessant chatter, almost like a broom went through my head and swept away all the worrying thoughts. It was like my head immediately emptied of all the chatter!
I have used this process repeatedly throughout the years. It is tried and true, simple, and it works very effectively for anyone. Not only can you relegate such thoughts to still the mind for easing into sleep, you can also take problems that are bothering you and relegate them to the 4D mind to work out and provide a solution to rather than waste your 3D energies worrying them out. I can only suggest you try this and see how it works for you. There is no 'downside' and the upside is well worth the doing.

Working with Directional Energies
To work with balancing your system even more than just working with solar and prana energies, there are further options available for use. The directional energies provide balance to the energies you may be bringing in over time from other suns and/or planets. These energies are important to harmonizing your body and very helpful in assimilation and usage of the energies you bring in.
I will write up a process for daily asking of all the energies listed when done elucidating them.
To the East is On
To the North is Atombee (Atum in ancient Egypt)
The the West is Maeve
To the South is Sokar
These energies come in in a counter-clockwise motion.
Along with the directional energies, you have spiral energies available from the central sun of the Pleiades system named Alcyone. These energies are governed by Nut (pronounced Newt). The ancient Egyptian sky goddess (although I use the term very loosely).
The Spiral energies are clockwise and serve as a balance with the directionals.
You also have 4 other energies that are beneficial to your growth and I will list them and who governs them.
Fire of Life - Raphael
Breath of Life - Anael
Water of Life - Sachael
Food of Life - Gabriel
Along with all these energies, we all have access to what are known as the Outer Directions. The outer directions are on the edge of Creation and serve as watchers over all creation, and also provide DNA enhancing energies. And not to be forgotten with the outer directions are the Spaces between the Directions.
As a daily means of helping you grow in your energy assimilation you can follow this procedure if you choose. This is not an 'invocation', but an asking - which makes it a co-creative process. To bring in these energies you merely have to say the following:
"I ask On, Atombee, Maeve and Sokar to bring in the directional energies. I ask Nut to bring in the Spiral energies. I ask Anael, Raphael, Sachael and Gabriel to bring in Fire of Life, Breath of Life, Water of Life and Food of Life. I ask the outer directions to provide their energies, and the spaces between the directions to provide their energies.
I instruct my cells to take in and assimilate these energies for the benefit of my own spiritual growth. And I ask that these energies radiate and touch all those I come in contact with so that it may enhance their potential growth."
These are generally very subtle energies and you may not feel anything after the asking, but they will work all the same. To some sensitive people, you may well feel the energies you are asking for.
As with all I post, this is a technique that works and that I personally use on a daily basis. You are free to try or not as you choose, but the energies written of here are very valuable for the sake of spiritual balancing.

The Message Has Always Been There
We see much focus these days on the New Age a-coming and the philosophies surrounding it. But the fact is that true spiritual awareness - the capability to perceive and live in spirit - has always been with us. We have just forgotten the path, we have lost our way.
We know the teachings of Lao Tzu in the Tao Te Ching, and the later teachings of the Buddha, and the even later teachings of Jesus - all of which have been corrupted by men with little real spiritual vision.
Through the advent of religious syncretism (the harmonizing of different religions) started by Alexander the Great spawned many bastard creations, one of which was Christianity. The doctrines of Paul are most primarily to blame for this mixed message that became Christianity with his experience of the 'visionary' Christ. Paul never knew Jesus, never knew what he taught in actuality, and was primarily a servant of Rome. Any keen study into Paul will reveal ties to the Herod family, who owed their allegiance and their power to the Roman emperors. This is why much of the Pauline doctrine is so pro-Roman.
Be that as it may, the threads of spiritual truth have always remained alive. Even today with the writings of people like Neale Donald Walsch - the author of the popular Conversations With God books - wherein a saying attributed to God goes something like "You believe that I stopped talking 2000 years ago when Jesus died. But the truth is, I have never stopped bringing my message to you. You generally refuse to listen." And that is sadly the truth of the matter. Or, if we do hear the message, we immediately try and compartmentalize it into known paramaters - for Christians especially, I refer to it as 'putting the message of spirit into the Jesus box.' By this I mean, that Christianity (as well as Islam, Hinduism and institutional Buddhism) has become so dogmatized that any idea that comes from outside the box of man-made dogma borders on the extreme.
Yes, what I propose in these posts is radical - maybe in your thinking even extreme. But I offer a chance at a greater understanding of God - Creator - Source - whatever name you are comfortable with. There are those who would accuse that I place myself on a platform with God - and this is true, but not within the understanding you might mean. Jesus taught that 'I and the Father are one.' I can say the same thing - as can all of you if you would but acknowledge it. Quantum physics is well on the road to proving the absolute connectivity of everything to everything else. Nothing is outside of God - or Cosmic Conciousness - or the Great Bob Schwartz - or whatever you call the Source of All That Is/All That Is Not.
Religions teach that we are all separated from God and can only reach understanding of God through mediators - i.e. Saviors, Prophets, Buddhas or whatnot. This is as far from real spiritual truth as you can get. The air you breathe is God, the water you drink is God, the atomic and subatomic particles that are everything we see, touch, taste and hear are God - so the question I have to ask you - in that context - how can you lot also be like God - for we are all God. Your hand cannot not be a part of your, any more than your liver and you heart and your brain. GIven this example, how can you live in creation and be less a part of God's creation? You cannot NOT be God in that context. We are all cells in the body of creation. We cannot be 'less than' that except by thinking in error.
And it is not just in Religion that these teachings lived. The purest teachings of Hermes Trismigestus (Hermes the Thrice Great), equated with the ancient of wisdom Thoth (pronounced Tehuti), bear these teachings out and show their antiquity. The following quote is from the book The Golden Builders by Tobias Churton - citing a more ancient quet by Libellus - called A Discourse of Mind to Hermes. I place this here because it sums all thi up perfectly:
"If then you do not make yourself equal to God, you cannot apprehend God; for like is known by like. Leap clear of all that is corporeal [i.e. use your imagination], and make yourself grow to a like expanse with that greateness which is beyond all measure; rise above all time, and become eternal; then you will apprehend God. Think that for you too nothing is impossible; deem that you too are immortal, and that you are able to grasp all things in your thought, to know every craft and science; find your home in the haunts of every living creature; make yourself higher than all heights and lower than all depths; bring together in yourself all opposites of quality, heat and cold. dryness and fluidity; think that you are everywhere at once, on land, at sea, in heaven; think that your are not yet begotten, that you are in the womb, that you are young, that you are old, that you have died, that you are in the world beyond the grave; grasp in your thoughts all this at once, all times and places, all substances and qualities and magnitudes together; then you can apprehend God. But if you shut up your soul in your body [or fail to use your imagination], and abase yourself, and says 'I know nothing, I can do nothing; I am afraid of earth and sea, I cannot mount to heaven; I know not what I was, nor what I shall be', then, what have you to do with God? Your thoughts can grasp nothing beautiful and good, if you cleave to the body, and are evil.
For it is the height of evil not to know God; but to be capable of knowing God, and to wich and hope to know him, with the road which leads straight to the Good; and it is an easy road to travel. Everywhere God will come to meet you, everywhere he will appear to you, at places and times at which you look not for it, in your waking hours and in sleep, when you are journeying by water and by land, in the night-time and in the day-time, when you are speaking and when you are silent, for there is nothing in which God is not. And do you say 'God is invisible'? Speak not so. Who is more manifest than God? For this very purpose he has made all things, that through all things you may see him. This is God's goodness, that he manifests himself though all things. Nothing is invisible, not even an incorporeal thing; nous (mind) is seen in its thinking, and God in his working."
And this is the vision I hold for Creator or Source, not a him or a her or an it, but all things. I need no savior to experience God, nor does anyone else. If you want to see a savior - go look in the mirror, for we are each our own saviors from the paradigm of wrong thinking. The paradigm that tells us we are less than God when we are an active part of God and the creation that surrounds us.
Does this vision of the working of God and my place in creation make me not a Christian or a Muslim, or a Hindu or a Buddhist? Only in the dogmatic sense of the word for my vision of God is expansive, not repressive, fresh not stale in dogmatic terms, living instead of dead. And it is this vision of Creator and your place as a co-equal creator in the equation that I invite you to learn and live.

Working with Prana Energies
I want to say up front that when I use terms like gods or goddesses, I use the term very restrictively, usually as a form of describing member of the cosmic Crew as they were once known. That same rule applies for this post.
Prana energy is a Dark energy, dark in contradistinction to the light energy of Ra and the solar Crew. Prana energy can be used to smooth out solar energies if you feel 'jangled' by the solar input described in the Raising Your Vibration post in this forum.
Just as Raphael is an energy technician for working with solar energies, so too is the ancient Egyptian goddess Nephthys. Nephthys was the sister of Isis in Egyptian lore and was known as the Queen of Darkenss for many centuries before she became known as Queen of the Underworld. We will focus here on her role as Queen of Darkness as she is a Prana, dark energy technician.
This information will not revolve around any techniques as did the working with solar energies. The solar visualization exercise was done mostly so your cell system would adapt the energy as it came in. If you get a largs dose of Solar energy, it can sometimes leave you feeling a bit jangly, or overly charged. To balance out this energy, you can ask Nephthys to provide you with some balancing Prana energy. No visualization is required, just the asking, and she works very well with Ra's energies and crew. If you do this while experiencing the high solar 'buzz' you will notice that you don't feel so jangled as Nephthys provides the Prana to equalize (not neutralize) the energies. What you will feel is the uplifting solar energies of Ra without the jangley edge you felt moments before. It mellows out the energy and smoothes you out.
The other major property of Prana and what Nephthys can provide is when you need sleep. A good dose of prana provided by Nephthys will lull you right to sleep, or if you need a 'hard' dose of prana, will put you right out. Anubis is another member of the Crew who works with Prana energies, but he can be a bit more heavy-handed in providing it, which is why I suggest Nephthys.
One of the beautiful aspects of Prana is found on those nights where you know you will not get 8 hours of sleep. You my only have 5 hours, for instance. In this case you can ask for a hard does of prana so you can get 8 hours sleep in only 5 hours. You will sleep very hard if you ask of an '8 in 5' dosage of Prana, but you will feel more rested than if you do not choose this route.
Another entity that works with Prana is Morpheus. Morpheus's primary realm of responsibility is the deep sleep that helps heal grief. If you are grieving, or know someone who is, you can ask Morpheus's aid in providing the sleep that heals.
So, with this knowledge about prana, you have the tool to work with balancing too much solar input. You also have a non-habit-forming sleeping pill that you can take as much as you need. Combine prana input with relegating your thoughts to the 4D mind and you should never have a problem getting to sleep.

Protective tool for Empaths
This tool is primarily for empaths, but can be used by others as well. Very sensitive empaths can often have problems when around a lot of people, they feel the emotions of others crashing in on them from all direction and many empaths avoid going places were there may be a large number of people gathered, i.e. Malls, concerts, churches or any other place you can think of. For many empaths it is much easier to just stay home than to be bombarded with unwanted emotional energies of the people surrounding them.
There is a solution.
The Source of creation is an unlimited supply of energy. All an empath has to do is erect an insulating bubble around themselves that disallows any unbidden energies from intruding into their space. You merely have to imagine the bubble and state with intent of its manifesting that you want to "erect a bubble of security that guards me against unbidden emotional energies. This bubble is to be energized by Source energy. It is to be self-generating, self-perpetuating and operate at all times. I will be allowed to feel emotions of others as I choose to through this bubble, but I will no longer be bombarded by random emotions against my will."
By stating your intent to the universe, this protective bubble wil be erected and will run all the time without another thought being given to it. The provision to be allowed to feel emotions of others when you choose to is there for the sake of healers who work with emotional body energies, like Reiki. By putting this bubble in place, as a healer, you will in no way reduce or impair your healing abilities, and you will always have protection against the constant barrage of other people's energies wearing you down.
Some empaths have come up with the idea of an insulating bubble just described, but have made the mistake of using their own energies to maintain it. This form of protection may case the bombardment of emotions to cease for a while, but it tires the energy body and the bubble usually collapses after a short period of time. By drawing on Source energies, you do not deplete your own energies and you will soon recover your balance and get back on your path to growth.
This technique works and I know of at least 2 members here you use it. I used this technique to erect a golden globe around my entire body to ward off negative influences that I did not know where they came from. But I used intention to erect it and make it stay there always.

Purpose of Heightened Vibrations
I put the post up about Raising Your Vibration, but rather than have this follow-up maybe get lost in the list of posts, I thought I'd start another thread with some more information.
Some of you are already trying the solar infusion technique and finding that it works. As you work with it more you will find that the sensation dissipates in strength. This is nothing to be concerned over. It shows that you are assimilating the energy and harmonizing your body's vibration with the heightened sensation. In other words, the more you take in the more you assimilate, the more your body chemistry alters, the less you will feel the effects. This is normal.
But rest assured, so long as your spiritual integrity stays high, there will be other energies presented to you as your vibration heightens enough to accept them. Many other stars, and even the constellations have energies to offer you. They come in a variety of 'flavors', if you will, and they will each serve to raise your vibration even more.
Sometimes with new energies, there can be some discomfort experienced, especially in the early stages. If, for instance, your vibration is not quite high enough to deal with a stellar input, you could experience headaches, or even some nausea. If this occurs, you always have the right the ask that the energy be backed off and more levelized to your vibrational level until your body adjusts and you can assimialte it better. As with all energies, the more you work with them the more readily you can assimilate them. One of the suns that soon follows along after assimilating Ra's energies for a while is the Star Alcyone in the Pleiades. Alcyone's energy is similar to Ra's, but is tempered with a certain body feel to it. You get a similar solar 'buzz' as with Ra in the early stages, but it also effects the body with a very mellow energy. You can easily nap while getting Alcyone's input.
But what I wanted to share is an answer to a question you may have - "Why are we rasing our vibration?" The answer to that, is offered very succinctly in David Icke's book "...and the truth shall set you free" From page 485:
"As people awaken and let go of the programming, their consciousness also let's go of that programming's vibratory suppression which is holding down their own frequency. When the mind and feeling centers are opened and allowed to expand, their frequency rises, and if this is allowed to continue, it will reach the point where it can synchronize with frequencies outside the vibratory prison (read that as Negative 3D - Dave). This allows these higher frequencies to be filtered down to our levels of being to this concious level, and then broadcast out into this physical world. When this state of being is achieved, those people become walking, talking, transmitters of a higher frequency."
So, for all intents and purposes folks, aside from our personal growth, we serve as anchors for all this energy to help bring our fellow humans along to the party. Many will recognize the energy subconciously if not conciously. Just by raising your vibration and bringing in more as you grow, you help spread the word to other souls - help souls remember their own missions here to be energy carriers as well.

Quick Centering Technique
What follows is a technique I learend from a Homeopathic Dr. in Illinois about how to center quickly.
Our hands are energy conduits - as any Reiki Master will tell you. Our body is set up like a battery with a positive and negative side like a car battery. In electronics, current flows from negative to positive. In the human body the left side is usually the receiving (positive) side, and the right side is the transmitting (negative) side of the circuit. By saying negative, I am only using an illustration from electronics - this does not denote negative energy - as in 'dark' or harmful energies.
To concentrate power in your transmitting hand (your right hand) Form a cone with your four fingertips to the tip of your thumb. As with any new technique, visual or verbal reinforcement helps your cellular computer take on the new program. This process is best started with a visual reinforcement.
Stand in front of a mirror and take your right hand, in the cone position described above, and place the cone in the area of your third eye, or your forehead. As you look at yourself in the mirror, breath deeply in a relaxed fashion and slowly move your right hand downward to your solar plexus. Do this about three times while you watch (for reinforcement programming) and you should feel the calm of centering settle on you.
You only have to use the visualization technique 2 or 3 times before your cells take the programming. After that, any time you feel you need to center you can use the same technique without the visualization and get the same effect. Priimarily what this exercise is doing is moving energy from one place to another. You can also, if need be, move the energy the other direction to help induce more awareness if required.
This exercise may sound very simplistic, but it does work, and it's always there in case you don't have 20 minutes to meditate and try to center through that process.

Setting the Ego aside
This was originally posted elsewhere but I keep getting questions about it and decided to make it easier to find.
These are not hard and fast, provable circumstances, but let's say for the sake of argument that when the human concept was designed, the ego was decided as a mechanical necessity. Let's just assume that the first human mechanism did not contain any ego (a fascinating proposition in itself). So the first spirit beings to inhabit the human form had no governor for their activities in the new human machine. And let's then assume that because there was no governor, that some of these spiritual entities, used to floating or flying in the etheric realms for instance, forgot that they were bound by 3D matter and jumped of cliffs thinking they could still fly or float. Well, we know what happens in that circumstance - the human machine would crash to injury or death. So, somewhere along the line somebody says, this experiment isn't working. We have to put something in place to stop this continual destrucution of bodies by inept operators (spirits). So someone came up with the idea of a governor program embedded in the human machine whose sole purpose was to protect the machine from harm. This mechanism would operate off of fear - i.e. fear of harm or death of the machine would serve to inhibit wanton or mistaken destruction of the body.
So now, let's assume that this new governor program - named ego - operated on a mere 2-5% of the brain. Not anywhere near enough to rule the body, but merely govern it in a protective manner. But now, through the course of evolution, the ego program got out of hand. The spirit beings allowed the ego more and more space to govern. And let's take our planet's history as an example and admit that government creates nothing but more government. In like kind, I suggest, did the ego eventually exceed the boundaries of its programmed jurisdiction until these days the ego actually thinks the human machine was designed for it, not vice versa. Through the course of these evolutionary changes, spirit, although still inhabiting the body, is no longer the star of the show. We have human machines that are no longer spirit-centric, but are now almost wholly ego-centric. The upshot of all this is that the ego was designed to govern through fear - once a healthy, miniscule program - has now run rampant.
The ego-self is itself merely a fiction. And being a fiction it needs to be constantly praised and have itself massaged, have the fear called doubt assuaged and all the other things that our egos require. Ego is a doubtful part of ourselves and needs constant reinforcement in order to proclaim it's validity. Our souls or spirits do not have this doubt - does not require the praise that the ego feeds on to justify itself. Once the ego is placed back in its proper place, you will find that your spirit can shine through with no effort whatsoever. You will find yourself more at peace with things, less doubtfult about things you once were, and definitely less fearful.
The only other point I'd try to make is in respect to the term we have been saturated with all our lives and that is being 'selfless'. The modern interpretation of selflessness has to do with people doing good deeds for others, i.e like Mother Theresa being selfless in her dedication. Mystics have often referred to selflessness and it is generally been misinterpreted to mean losing yourself in the vast realms of the cosmos. Many people fear this interpretation because, from an ego standpoint, they believe that they will lose their identity. A frightening proposition to anyone.
But my interpretation of selflessness has to do with putting the ego back in its place. The ego is our current 'self'. To become selfless is to put the ego back on the shelf where it belongs, only occupying the amount of space of its original programmed parameters. When this is accomplished the egotistical fiction 'self' is no longer the driving force and you become a 'selfless' individual. This, I believe, is the true meaning of mystical selflessness and it can be done by anyone who chooses to do so.
To do this, just sit down in a chair and decide to put the ego away. You will feel the ego in your head, maybe spinning in circles, or bouncing around as you start this process. It may take less than an hour, or a few hours, but once you decide to put the ego back in its place, you can do it by will and determination. And when you succeed you will feel a physical 'thunk' someplace in your body. For me it was in my head, for my wife it was in her heart chakra - but we both felt it - and you will too when you suceed.

Arash Rasteh, you are not alone in that. Visualization is challenging to me, though I have been and am making satisfying progress. People are so dynamic that even in my most vivid dreams, their faces are sometimes misrepresented even when I know who they are supposed to be to me. But I have other challenges, like maintaining a non-judgmental frame of mind about the fact of even visualizing certain things that involve other people, which takes part of my efforts... recently I have been practicing a lot with visualizing the energizing of water, as it is simple, but difficult to master and full of such possibility, as Burt has taught us.
I can conjure quite vivid visualizations already, but the more I try to control them the more challenging it is to maintain their lushness. The most vivid visualizations have been so random in nature and content that I find myself quite stunted in continuing with those particular ones, and merely being thankful for their level of detail, which I hope to harness more for things I want.

Here is something I hope for: since I have stumbled here and there in this life, I hope to sometime be able to relive these experiences as a better person who can enjoy them more fully and make better choices to share love more abundantly...because I have truly been blessed with every opportunity I ask for, and that deserves a response of equal competence. So, I have been learning quite a lot about missed opportunities, which are perhaps, to the finite mind, one of the most difficult experiences to accept. As the saying goes somewhat: it's not what you do that you regret, but what you don't do.

if we are all a mental construct of the divine, then that means that we don't really exist.. quantum physics theories infer that there isn't anything out there except some subtle form of energy waves that behave as particles only when observed.. this means that matter is only created when someone or something is observing it.. and if there is nothing out there, and the only sure thing is God... then that means we are God too, whatever God really is..
and yes.. we do create our own illnesses, but we can cure them too, just by realizing that they are an illusion and BELIEVING that we can conquer them because they stem out of fear.. easier said than done sometimes, but that's why we need guidance and spiritual counselors and healers.

What I like about you...is your spatial thinking, critical thinking, if you will. Pretty much my whole life I have been intrigued by GOD and his immense infinitness(there are no words to express the awesomeness of what is creation, on human terms say).
A long time ago, at 16 years of age, I was musing..."To be or not to be". As a budding writer(lyrics,songs,prose,aphorism) I wanted to write something, as, or more profound, and using less words.
Well, I entertained that muse for days and days. Then, what popped in my mind,31 years ago,was "Today was Tomorrow, Yesterday". It is four words that mean so much, on so many levels. I am quite fascinated at the illusions we adhere to today. How easly, we are manipulated, by all, that is from "mans creating". Now, the shift taking place, is drawing us towards oneness. The work people are doing, like yourself, are helping many to understand,and hopefully, strip away the many, many layers of false beliefs. It was never in the interest of those that run the show here on earth, for this simple truth to get out. That is, that we are all one,we are here to exhaust every possible thought,action,feeling. So, that all that can be felt/experienced lead us to accept, that we are much greater than we BELIEVE we are.
I like to see and read peoples points of views, and like your painting...we are all painting the canvass with what we, the painters, see within us. The first law of life "Belief". The second law of life "Perception". You will only see what you believe. Of course, this is my point of view. I guess confirming it for myself.

I really appreciate your insights and have been following you for a while now. I read your post about the mentalist and it got me to thinking:) I am in agreement with you and yet I wonder about "creating only with the mind." I believe we can use the "whole dynamic" of consciousness as human beings to co-create our reality. In quantum physics you would call it the "super position," a place outside of space and time where we can choose our reality with focused intention and bring it into being. The mind can be a limiting force and very linear and I believe that co-creating with the divine is a much more organic and limitless process that includes the tapping into our higher self. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. I would also like to know what you think about "divine timing" and why things don't manifest as quickly as I would like!

Imagine if someone from the past..let's say from 300 years ago go to a public toilet..and use an automatic toilet flash......he must think that is pure magic.....
but we all know that the flash simply read the magnetic vibration of our hand and so on....(well is still confusing for me too ah aha)
so the all point in evolution is to reach fastest way of making creativity happenning....what you think you create.......and so you come closer to god.....but with no stress of finding answer but enjoying the path that leads to divinity....
is so important to understand that advance evolution in every field can only happen when is closer to spirituality and love....

Isn't "perfect" and "perfection" subjective? How would anyone define perfect? What I think is perfect, makes other people cringe - like a wild forest, filled with animals. That's why I've never understood how anyone could define "heaven" and/or "paradise."

I have been following your series since the first one. I have found them all very interesting. I thought that I would like to comment on this one. I have thought a lot about understanding an infinite being before I ever read your explanation. I came on a little different way of perceiving infinity so I'll try to tell you how I try to wrap my mind around it.
We can't comprehend infinity due to the fact that we are “trapped” in time. The being that created us also “created” time and put us in that confined area. I don't think that an infinite being would see living a hundred years, then a thousand, a million, etc. I kind of came on this theory from a verse in the bible that says a day is like a thousand years to God. In other words, time has no meaning because it isn't real. It is just another “thing” that He created.
I know that is not a great explanation but I don't want to write a whole book here. Anyway, thanks for your wonderful skits! Take care, stay well.

A quick note on comprehending the timeline of perfection. I wonder if we will really be conscious of the the time that is passing. Here in this physical life, one of the most transcendent, joyous experiences we can have is to be so completely and fully in the present moment that the past does not matter, and we have full faith that the future will be exactly as it is supposed to be. Perhaps we will be so extremely present that a day could go by or a million, but all that matters is the perfection we feel of the present moment. Perhaps we will be completely removed or above the restrictions we allow time consciousness to place on our lives here. Just a thought. I'd love to hear your feedback.

Dear Burt, thanks again for another great lesson. It is controversial, as you said, but certainly contains a great deal of truth and hope.
I have something of an off topic question for you this week. Since you are a QiGong Master I know you can answer it, and I hope you will find the time to respond.
I have been practicing QiGong for several months now, from a CD that I purchased. I have been blessed to feel the power between my hands and the energy fields around my body. However, recently I tried an experiment that has me very puzzled. When my hands are warmed up and sensitive, I am able to feel Qi resistance in my hand by stretching my arm out into the air, away from my body, as far as my arm will reach. The resistance is not as fierce and fiery as the one I feel between my hands, yet it is there, everywhere. Could you please help me? Am I feeling Earth Qi? Am I feeling God? Kenetic asks a good question. Do we create our own illnesses? Well, I didn't create my own blonde hair or size 12 foot or many other physical accidents. But I did create my own depression. And thanks to mental discipline, I can chase away the depression. Seratonin re-uptake inhibitors only served to quell my sexual performance. So I know they worked to make more seratonin reserve in my brain. However, I was still depressed because I decided that I would think depressed. Now, I take no pills, and I simply think with a positive view point. It's not easy, but it works. That's the only way I know to answer Kenetic's question.
Burt, although I'm not hearing this for the first time, I'm awaken again to the mental work of creativity I have to do and continue to do.But how do you repair in a short time what you have damaged over time? Overtime you stray from the track, the ego sneaks in and do some damage. How do you repair the damage quick instead suffering the effects for long? Best regards Burt

I particularly appreciate your approach of providing "techniques" or "tools" for us to use in practical applications. Each can then grow into thinking more deeply about the ramifications of that process. You always provide "peeks" through the veil at the greater priciples behind. Now we are going to get a more in depth look at each of the principles.
