Think Outside The Box: “Dear Burt” Volume 36 33

Hello Friends,
I’m back with my 36th edition of Dear Burt :)
It’s been far too long since we’ve last seen each other. I have to apologize about the last couple of weeks. As I mentioned, I’ve been very busy working on my new program, the Prosperity Blueprint.
Things are starting to slow down a bit, which means we’ll be back to sharing a cup of coffee and our weekly friday routines in no time :)
Before I get started, let me give a you a brief introduction. The story I’m going to share with you in this video is one that I’ve been telling others for decades. It’s a metaphor to explain just how powerful the concept of “thinking outside the box” truly is.
Lets take a moment to think about something... How many events or activities have you chosen to do in your life just because you were influenced by someone else? How many times have you been influenced to do something only because friends, parents, or your peers had convinced you it was "the way the world works." That’s exactly what happens in our lives. We repeatedly do the same things in the same way and get stuck in the same old rut. Yet we keep asking ourselves: How can I get out of this box I am stuck in?  How can I live a better and more interesting life?
Albert Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” My friends, the answer lies behind this famous quotation:  “Be different and make a difference.”
If you are stuck in a rut and not happy about your life situation, you have to leave your comfort zone and explore other solutions in the unknown world. The secret to having a fulfilling and interesting life lies in seeing the world differently.
Before I get to the video, here are a few questions that I have decided to answer this week:

Dear Burt

You are so right Burt!?It is shocking to consider that most of us spend so long working and not have much to show for it.?Please enlighten the masses with love and gratitude!

Stella

Dear Burt

Thanks Burt, I have followed your Dear Burt since the start and every one of them make so much sense and are so easy to follow. My problem is keeping up the momentum after the first few days. How can I keep the momentum? ?Thanks again.

Ken

Dear Burt

Your coffee talk I am sure did a lot to set people free. I needed to hear it is the intention, not necessarily the technique. People assume when they don't get the results they want it is because they didn't do the technique...thanks for clearing that up.

Dear Burt

Enjoyed your Dear Burt, Thank you! You are mentioning hypnosis. Can you give us so of the basic hypnosis techniques you have and some of the foundations it is based on?

Take care and see you soon.

Rosie

Dear Burt

I looked at the mind box and it looks a lot like the Silva Supermind program that I attended in Austin, TX. What are the differences and why is this one better?

Susan

Someone's four-year-old was "helping" me make a couple of roasts this past weekend on a grill. Of course, the fire was low, and I was slow cooking them. As I turned the roast and closed the lid, the little boy said, "No! You're supposed to go tsssss!" and he pressed down with the spatula like he was pressing burgers. I smiled and said, "Does your dad do that with burgers?" He said, "Yep." I said, "Oh. Well, roasts are different." So, maybe I helped forestall some deeply-ingrained family tradition.

Thanks for that anecdote, Burt. I found it to be very insightful. I understand about your stance on hypnosis. What about self-hypnosis though??

Kathy says

Sure look forward to your Dear Burt talks. I really like hearing about the power of intention. I need to practice this more, to feel comfortable with it. Thanks for talking about it again.

Hi Burt,

I think it was me who was behind a bit so glad to see you today even though I am a week behind (6/11/10) I love the sipping of coffee together. Anyway, LOVE the story about the roast. So true that we need to find out why we do things a certain way. I changed my thinking - my mother use to hit us with her slipper and I NEVER hit my kids while they were young. I told them that I would take them to jail where the young kids went. That scared them and if I ever thought I really needed to take them there I am sure that the policeman would have told them to be good. So I changed my ways while rearing my own children - I didn't continue the slicing of the roast. :) :) :) :)
See you next week!!!!

Dear Burt,
Your comments on procrastination gave me a huge belly laugh. I have experienced both the positive and sometimes negative sides of it, particularly putting off old age. I loved it. Thanks.

Hello Burt, Thank you for the roast story. I really enjoyed it. I enjoy all of your stories. I want to let you know I am a huge fan of your Quantum Jumping courses. I have both. I also have gotten others. I do use the Bagha quite often and it really does work for me. You are a great inspiration and I like to tell people of your courses and how well they work. I do have one continuing issue though. I always fall asleep during the meditation so I have yet to get to see my Doppleganger. It frustrates me to no end. No matter how many times I try, it happens over and over and over. You have given others advise on the same issue, but do you have any other ideas (different) that may help me to have good successful jumps? Thank you Burt

Hi Burt, My question is why didn't either mother or daughter ever question grandma ahout the one-inch off either side theory? Change would have come with the answer! Also the hubby was extremely patient, and a trusting soul, not to ask or inquire of his wife!

Now I know how Sapper felt.

Thank you for the part you've played in bringing this about.

Dear Burt, I just want to share an extraordinary experience I had while using your Bagha (is one of my favourites from your techniques, I must use it tens of times every day, it has become a reflex by now). SOme days ago I was cooking something and some boiled oil got on 2 of my fingers. Normally I would immediately put some honey on it and wait some half an hour or so, but this time I couldn't afford to stop... the first thought that crossed my mind was that I'm gonna reaaaally feel those fingers the next few days (it was a deep burn)... then, without really thinking, I just did the Bagha, it was a reflex actually, and for a second or two I thought how nice would have been to put some honey or energized water on them, I think i even saw it for a moment... but really only a moment, as I couldn't stop, I was really late that time. Some hours later, I remembered the fingers, and I looked to see how bad it is and what could I still do... but, surprise! there was no burn anymore!!! nothing! and believe me, it was quite deep... i'm sure you must have heard lots of stories like this, I just want to add a thank you, big big THANK YOU for all your work!
Wishing you all the best,
Ioana
P.S. I love the painting in the back on this last video, so enthusiastic and cheerful in a way, yet calm, securing, and peaceful...

One more thing does using the Bagha when doing healing help it work better?

Hi Burt! So happy to see you again and get some additional insight into life. I've always appreciated my ability to think and act outside the box and was glad to hear you tell people how important it is. Then, I read my horoscope and realized that maybe you were also talking to me! Here it is:

Hi Marilyn! Here is your Daily Horoscope for Friday, June 4

Try shuffling things around a little today, even if you risk losing important papers or other key elements of your working life. A shift in perspective is vital to making any progress.

So, I guess I have to take your suggestion and look at what I am doing out of habit in order to continue moving forward!!

Even though I use my natural emotional cycle to advantage, it never occurred to me to use the motivation/lack of as a cycle - today, I've learned two important lessons and had fun at the same time! :) Next time lack of motivation shows up, I'll let it be okay and see how much difference it makes.

Thank you for the insight - need all the help I can get, as do many others. I feel bad for all the people who never wake up or even think to change their life for the better.

Can you offer us some advice on how to get over irrational fears - the kind that hold us back from having a better life? I am really tired of holding myself back - half the time I don't even notice it - which really annoys me.

And, a few more tips on how to go with the flow would be appreciated, too. :)

So happy to have spent this time "with" you and see you next week,
Marilyn

Hi Burt,

Enjoyed your dear Burt, as always. I am very glad that you are able to help so many people through your weekly "Dear Burt" videos.

Randy Davis says

It's funny that on of the previous commentors said something about coffee time with Burt. When Burt first mentioned having a cup of coffee with us I was kind of shocked. I think he is 83 years young and I just found out he drinks coffee, something I haven't been able to drink for years. Well, I set my intention to drink coffee with Burt the following week and enjoy the taste as much as the healing effect of the coffee. I touched the tip off my tounge to the roof of my mouth and changed my belief about the coffee and I'm having a mug now! Thank you Burt for these little tid-bits of effective information.
However, I do have the extra expense of coffee and the creamer but I love it!

Sincerely,
Randy
